I hunt antiques outdoors

I was hoping maybe some of the other 'anglers and hunters' on here were also into privy digging, prospecting and general relic hunting in old barns and fence rows all over North America?

What have you guys ever found out there in the great outdoors?

Here's a shot of me last weekend digging a historic dump here in Ontario, Canada.

Welcome aboard Arob!!! I have two barns FULL of that stuff!!! My dad and I like to take the metal detectors out to the sites of the old logging camps in our area. The camps haven't been active for over 50 years, but you can still find a lot of little treasures left behind.

I got thinking about guns and game after watching Josh Brolin in the movie No Country for Old Men.
Have you all seen this film? Its heavy with guns and ammo - a must see!

Welcome!
I've wanted to get into meteor hunting with my metal detector after watching it on "In Search of Trash and Treasures" on the Travel Channel. The host also went on a search for old bottles and came up with some rather pricey ones. Quite lucrative if sold to collectors.

For now, I'm too busy with working towards my bachelor's degree to do more than shooting and photography as a hobby.

I started Metal detecting when I lived in Florida, finding Coins,Jewelry, musket balls, etc. I dig old dumps here in Alaska and find some nice treasures and glass ware and Bottles.found Russian trade stuff in an old Indian site..Now I pretty much detect for Gold nuggets here.

Greetings, Arob! I believe I saw you over on one of the camping forums I just joined. Small world!
When my sister was clearing her land a few years back, she found some red clay pots, that were hung on trees for catching pine sap.
I once found, in the woods at an old campsite, a rusty oil lamp. I cleaned it up, and returned it to useability. I doubt it was really very old though.

there are hundreds of mining camps here in colorado where i live .
the best spot for good scores?
old outhouse pits!
folks dropped something down there in the day and never tried to get it out!
many booze bottles got thrown in those also.

Bottle Rush in Meaford - Part Three

I just posted Part Three, the exciting conclusion of Bottle Rush in Meaford on my Dumpdiggers blog at Dumpdiggers

Here I tried to make each post as informative as it is entertaining. This adventure series was fun to write, and I hope to bring a lot more tales like this your way in the coming months...

I hope this final post closes this thread properly and serves as my adventure story of introduction.
