It sounds to me that you may have a broken or weak extractor pin spring. I have recently completed a thorough cleaning on the bolts of 2 of my carbines. Powder residue and 'gunk' built up in the spring coils as well and can cause problems. If your local gunsmith doesn't have a replacement spring contact

M14man has a good point. If the extractor is broken where he indicates, the plunger has nothing to lock into. Extractors can be gotten at the above sight as well.
