Oh well, can't rant too much. We just passed up one for 125 this past weekend. Are we dumb or what?
Hi Points are clunky, ugly, accurate and from our experience, generally dependable. I think they are the Doberman Pinschers of the gun world. Much maligned much misunderstood just because of the way they look.
I've also found that the more you shoot a Hi Point, the better they get. I was ready to drive a truck over my 9 carbine at first-lots of Failures to Eject, lots of Stove Pipes. Then suddenly they stopped happening and now it is one of my most dependable firearms. I wouldn't want to shoot it at a target over 200 yardsaway and depend on it to hit the mark, but at 100 yards, it's completely accurate.
