45acp and 9mm loads

Gday fellas and lassies,I have been asked by a mate to load some bulk ammo for him.He has two glocks in 45acp and 9mm.I have only loaded for 44mag,357mag and 32s&w long pistol cartridges. What i am after is loading data and OAL for these glocks with winchester WST powder. Not sure if WST is ideal, but i have a couple kilos of it and want to use it up before its out of date. The projies im going to use are both lead for the different cals, plus the heavy end of the scale for both.230 gn for 45acp and 135gn for 9mm.If win WST isnt the best let me know,i also have some australian powders like ADI as30,ADI ap70 and ADI ap100.

From Nick Harvey's reloading manual:

.45 Auto (acp)
PISTOL: Colt Gvt Model
BARREL: 127mm
TWIST: 1:16
CASES: Super-X WLP primer
MAX CASE LENGTH: 22.80mm
TRIM TO LENGTH: 22.55mm

230gn LRN
Start MAX
POWDER GNS MV POWDER GNS MV

800-X 6.2 760 800-X 7.2 860
WSF 5.5 820 WSF 6.2 910
WIN 231 4.5 765 WIN 231 5.1 870
WST 4.0 750 WST 4.5 805
700-X 4.3 750 700-X 5.6 900
UNIQUE 5.1 750 UNIQUE 6.3 900

He doesnt list any ADI powders for this weight. But he does for the lighter weights.

For 9mm he only lists 125gn Lead and 147gn Lead, if you want these i will be more than happy to copy them out for you.

Hope this info helps mate.

*edit* - for some stupid bloody reason all my gaps in between the load data seem to have dissapeared, hope you can still make sense of it.

I dont know about over there but here we can get all kinds of reloading mags from the powder, bullet and reloading equipment co,s free.I would be skeptical about loads from people on a forum because of typo errors unless I had manuels to verify them so they are close. sam.

Does that include the load data that you post on a regular basis? Or does it just apply when it is from other people?

I have heard, do not know personally, that Glocks do not like lead bullets due to poly rifling so be careful guys!

I actually just read the same thing over in the reloading part.

Might be something to check out further mate, before you run the lead through those glocks.

Irish, I just noticed this thread, try taking a look @ www.hodgdon.com they have Win. powder info. I can't find my Win. manual but they should have load info. The Glocks are famous for leading barrels when using cast bullets, I'd look at some copper-clad bullets like Berry's or Rainier.

Not that easy to get over here mate. These projies arent raw lead, they are covered in the black hard moly coat. But i have had leading problems with the same projies in my old ruger SBH 44mag.I make my own 200gn pills for my 357magnum and have never had leading.Maybe my bullet alloy is far better than the bulk lead projies you buy.

I posted a thread over in the reloading section just to be sure. One of the comments i read included the word BOOM at the end of the sentance.

Hopefully they will be a little more giving with their info about that than their load data, LOL.

Irish, the GLOCK's have polygonal rifling vs. standard land\groove rifling and this is what causes the leading. Think of it this way, if you look down the barrel of a GLOCK, it will look like a 60's representation of a stop sign spiraling into never-never land, rather than a "real" gun with standard rifling. BTW, you and Nathan need to relax a bit, this isn't an "us against them" pissing match, we're all friends here.
