Question Hakim Scope

I think this is the closest forum for a question about the Hakim, its chambered in 8mm mauser lol

Anyway i really would like to purchase one of these rifles and I would REALLY like to put a scope on one... I was on gunbroker.com and seen one with a scope on it

GunBroker.com guns: Egyptian Hakim Semi-Auto Rifle in 8mm Mauser (item: 86158870 ends: Dec-04-07 07:20:56 PM)

I really dont know how effective a scope could possably be 1 foot away from your eye lol... Anyway I looked through the archives and seen people talk about scope mounts... Do they set them up like a garand? Do they mount the scope right over the receiver? Does anyone have a picture of a hakim with a scope correctly mounted on it? Or does anyone know any company that makes mounts for it?

I would love to have a gun I could load up with with surplus rounds and destroy a stump at 50 yds... Then slap a scope on it and do some target shooting with some quality ammo...

first off welcome to G&G. actaully there is a forum for the Hakim just below the mauser one. that one on gunbroker is total butcherd (bubba'd) and I would never pay the price he is asking. I have one myself and have never considered putting a scope on it, but I beleave they make some sortof mount used by replaceing the rear sight, I would go this route since i do not beleave it to be permanant and can be changed back to original condition.
