Update on US Border Guards Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals heard the appeal arguements for Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos' attoneys today. Talk show host, Ed Hendy of KSEV AM Radio was in attendance. Two of 3 judges grilled US DA Johnny Sutton's assistant DA today.
Poor Johnny Sutton is going to have his head handed to him on a paper plate.

Here is a couple of links:

Pat Gray: The Official Website - The Wry & Coy Report 02.28.2007
Pat Gray is a hoot. He and Glenn Beck are buds. Pat has some great parody songs to download like McAmerica. Where an illegal crosses the border and drives up to McAmerica's drive thru window for a bunch of free US goodies (courteousy of the US taxpayer).

Whow! An ol boy in Indiana that knows what time it is!
Bigbud, it's amazing you tell folks about this story of injustice and a strange look overtakes em. If they dont see in on ABC CBS NBC, the story is a farse.

I'm puzzled, when this story broke in February last year, why the Democrats didn't pick up on it to beat up W. This story has real teeth not like the trival crap Washington Dems kept trying to make politcal hay with over the last several years.

This whole deal makes me want to puke! Sutton should be imprisoned immediately along with every single person who helped prosecute these guys.

I agree. Maybe they could give him that other jerk for a roommate--the one who went after the lacrosse team on a totally bogus rape accusation.

It's good to read about this miscarriage of justice finally getting sorted out for Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos.

Thanks for the post FMJ...

I agree totally. Sutton has aided and abetted drug smugglers. He is a criminal. I hope those two agents sue the govt. We have to get more of this trash out of our govt. Only traitors leave the door open for the raiders.

Oh come on. Too easy. Illegals don't vote. They just don't. Anyone who tells you otherwise is pissing on your shoe and telling you it's raining. Cynthia Tucker has a lot to say on voter disenfranchisement and using illegals as a cover for it.

Licenses...that's too far, and no one in my state seems to be leaning that way at all. I'm happy with the Dems and 'Pubs we voted for here so far.

But this is indeed good news. If the little weasel perjured himself, his testimony becomes suspect, ergo, no case.

But my favourite line from that article?

"Higginbotham rebuked Stelmach's suggestion that Aldrete-Davila's drug history prior to the Feb. 17, 2005, incident with the border agents was not relevant to the trial. The judge argued the second load was relevant because it showed Aldrete-Davila had a brazen disregard for the law, a key factor in evaluating his testimony for the prosecution."

And we have a winner! Of course his prior record of drug smuggling is relevant to the issue at hand! They must have had them over a barrel to get that assistant US attorney to admit his witness perjured himself.

This is good news for those two gentlemen. Hopefully Judge Higgenbotham will coast this the rest of the way home.

Okay, lemme take a dig, I'm feeling uppity. So, Bush will commute Scooter's sentence but won't pardon these guys? Now who doesn't care about border security? (I know...I know...bad me.) But Bush's office was directly contacted by a Republican Rep. about this case.

Just saw on WND that Bush has pardoned a bunch of criminals, but didn't pardon the border patrol agents. What a travesty of justice.

Now you're getting an idea of why I don't like Dubya. It ain't Liberal or Conservative. He just doesn't seem to care about anyone or anything beyond his own agenda. This issue and these people are Right Wing all the way, and I'm totally on board.

Let's try and keep updated on this one.
