Is this possible? I don't have the means to reload myself and i think this could be a possibly somewhat money making venture. Anyone know where i could do this or if it would even work?
7.62x54R (Prvi Partizan stuff. Not surplus. Also soon to purchase Bulgarian heavy ball. Read on another post that brass is reloadable?), 7.62x39mm (Wolf manufactured steel poly coated. idk if that is even reloadable), and 6.5mm Carcano (Privi Partizan. I guess its reloadable?). And i have lots and lots of empty shell casings that i cant use
Most of that stuff is Steel cased and non-reloadable...
Look inside the case, in the bottom. If it has 1 hole in the center , it is reloadable, if there are 2 holes, it is Berdan primed and not reloadable...

ah ok. i have no idea how ammo works and all that jazz. I think the Prvi stuff is reloadable though. Its brass and i think i read somewhere it is. Idk for sure. I could be wrong. In any case anyone was a couple hundred once used rounds to stare at? haha

If it is brass cased,look inside with a flashlight and see if it has one hole in the center over the primer...That is reloadable and sellable brass...
Somebody will want it for sure if it is.

can you explain why the Berdan primed ones aren't reloadable? I'm not doubting you at all i believe you i'm just curios what the difference between the two is. Other than having 2 holes instead of 1
With 2 holes, and none in the center, you cant punch the primer out by normal means. You have to use a prying tool to remove the primers, and the anvil is a small dome between the 2 holes inside the primer pocket . Berdan primers are larger than the boxer primers, so regular primers won't fit , and Berdan primers are getting very hard to come by. Boxer primers have a small metal anvil that sits inside of the cup , and flash thru a center hole !

I have a 7.62x54r and i have yet to see boxer primed brass, much of it is berdan primed. What I suggest for you is to recycle it. You can get $1.25 per pound of brass cases. I collect brass for shooting spots in the desert and turn them in and buy more ammo with the money. Mooseman, I am will be looking for good .223 brass in the near future when I get my reloading setup.
Roadie, boxer-primed '54R brass is fairly easy to come by now as it is loaded as factory ammo by Wolf, S&B aka: Winchester, Prvi Partizan, Norma, and Lapua and is also available as virgin brass from Jamison and Grafs.
Once fired boxer primed brass, while valuable, doesn't command large prices. You won't make enough to bother selling it. Keep it until you're reloading yourself.
Steel cases, from anywhere, are not reloadable. The mild steel used isn't elastic like brass is. It expands to seal the chamber when fired but doesn't come back as much as brass does.
Berdan primers are reloadable and readily available, but they're far more trouble than they're worth. There's very little milsurp brass that is not available with boxer priming. Soviet Bloc milsurp ammo usually come with them and is also usually, but not always, corrosively primed.

I've got lots of it - 5.56, 7.62x51, 30/06, M1 Carbine, 45 acp, 9mm, 38spl, 357, and several other calibers in smaller amounts.

I'm sure boxer style cartridges for 7.62x54 is available? I know you can purchase a decaper for the burden style but as far as primers I don't know?

I wouldn't even consider selling reloads I would think you would be setting your self up for one hell of a law suit????????

Did you ever sell the 7.62 X 54 brass? Never did find out in you thread if it was boxer primed. I would be interested in it since I will be starting to reload for the M44 Mosin Nagant I just bought. May not be cost effiecient but I don't care since I just like to reload.
