The Neo is too much of a space gun for me. I personally don't like the grip and I like my guns to look like guns and not something found on a space ship.

LOL jashoffa, I understand, but everyone isn't alike, for me it fits my hand, I am female btw so maybe that is why it feels good, but who knows someday we may be in space and guess what... I will be better prepared for alien beings because I will have my space gun practice in and will zap those boogers hehehe.

All joking aside, the looks of the gun doesn't bother me at all, I think it is actually a neat looking gun, shoots great. I have a S&W 640 for my carry gun but I needed something to practice with and it is using the cheap ammo and not having a bit of a problem. We put about 100 rounds through it today and at 15 yards my daughter and I both knocked a coke can off the post over and over again. I know that 15 yards probably doesn't sound like much to you experienced shooters but we are beginners so we are pleased with our progress.

Hey there g&d I owned both and the Browning was much better. I have the Browning varmit(long bull barrel) I bought a wood forend for it, (the holes there already) and it shoots better than most rifles their target pistol is just like it only better(shorter barrel and good sights, I scoped my varmit) however the p22 was bad from day one nothing would feed without jamming we sent it back to the factory when it came back same crap so I traded it for something else. You will be much happier with the Browning. Or maybe a Trailside I always wanted to try one of them Big boomer(winsted) PS. 15 yards is a good place to shoot from most self defense shootings are from 7 feet. and most comp shooting is 50 feet.

Very dependable. Every browning I have come in contact with has been extremely reliable. Walthers are cute, but Brownings are better.

Not to my knowledge. Most of my family is in northern New England. Laplante Family Genealogy Forum and Clément Lerigé de La Plante and his Descendants may give your friend some info on the family name. The second link shows how the name came to North America.
