That was a pretty informative post. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

basically this all boils down to...."to each his own"

some people like power

some people like speed

i have been shooting all of my life, i served in the army and now i am in the air force...i carry a glock 19 for personal protection, and i carry gold sabre 147 grain JHP...as long as i am within 30 feet my bullets go where i want them...i have been trained as such...

that said...

the average law enforcement officer has a 25% accuracy rating....meaning one in four shots will hit the target...(most cops are better than this its just an averaged number, not dogging on the police )
and the cops are trained sooooo if you are not a cop or a soldier you might want to have a firearm with more rounds...a gun is a gun...and it can be frightful....ever stare down the barrel of any weapon?! if a gun is pulled on me im not going to look at it and go oh thats a .45 im going to run off, or say oh thats a 9mm im not scared! if you want a big bullet and a big gun ok if you want a small bullet and a smaller gun ok...to each his own!

As far as 9mm goes (I have carried 9mm for years now...) I ahve always used Cor-Bon 115 jhp....480+ lbs and 1300+ fps. As good or better than most .40 and less recoil. If you can put the shot where you want with a reasonable degree of destructive force it will do what you want...
