Won't find one for the old timer. You may be able to sling slugs fairly accurately with the smoothbore in reasonable ranges.

If it's the bolt-action, the barrel isn't easily replaceable. I doubt they made slug-specific barrels for them. Have you tried shooting the slug loads in it?
Mine shoots well with bird shot too, and I have recently bought buchshot loads for it - but haven't shot them yet.
I still need to try the slugs too.
The main problem I see is the rudimentary sights.

Typically, no. If they are Fosters. The gun must be in good mechanical condition. If in doubt, have it checked by a competant smith.

they only real concern i had was the end of the barrel, a couple of my friends said it looked kinda of small although i never though much of it and it shoots just fine with shot so i didnt try slugs because they thought it would get stuck of blow the end of the barrel out but to me it looks they same as any other .410

Years back I was at a friends house and he had a breakopen which I broke 5 beer bottles straight with at 60 paces with slugs. This was a full choke. It wont hurt the barrel because the pure lead slug compresses easily. Those were the standard size beer bottles too AH,not the big leter size,we didnt have liter size in those days. sam.
