Another Casualty of Road Hunters

Had an 18 year old kid killed by a road hunter while he was duck hunting in NE Kansas yesterday. The news is calling it a hunting accident, I think it was murder since it is illegal to road hunt. I guess they shot at his decoys in a field and hit him. He would have been 19 today.

You can not be charged with murder for unintentional cause of death. You can, however, be charged with manslaughter, criminal negligence and some others. You are also very civily liable.

I agree, however, these dudes are bottom feeders.

That is too sad. People like that give all hunters and gun owners a bad name.

Negligent slobs like these guys are the reason that our hunting and shooting rights are constantly under fire. Things like this should never happen.

Amen. I wish they could go away for life, even if they serve 20 years each, thats not enough. In 2028 they would walk out of prison free men, but the kid will still be dead. As long as he's dead I don't think they have a right to be free.

I hope that they find and prosecute all of them and I hope the victim's family sues and collects the largest amount of damages possible from each of them.

They had a really good description of the vehicle, and it's different enough that someone should recognize it. It was a truck with a red cab and orange bed. They even had the county of the tag. They should be found sometime soon. You would think they would be watching the news since this is all over it. If they had any morals they would turn themselves in.

While they pretend to care about accidental death,s,animal slaughter,(Their words, not mine)and murder and suicides, dont be fooled into thinking the gun grabbers feel sorry for any death caused by someone with a firearm. The truth is they love it when there are shootings and murders because they can use them to further their agenda for gun control which would lead to government dominance and control of the majority. If they really cared about death and shootings they would take firearms away from the violent criminals that do the killings instead of going after the law abiding honest citizens that use firearms with responsibility. They love to set the criminals free so they can murder again. They love to restrict law abiding citizens so they cant protect themselves. They love murders. That is what they will use to take control of our defences and enable them to gain the power to govern(enslave)the majority. sam.

If they had any morals, they wouldn't have been road hunting and firing rifles at sitting ducks to begin with.

Too true. I know in Kansas there are 53 Wildlife and Parks agents for the whole state. Everywhere I have hunted there have been issues about roadhunters. There just aren't enough people to control the poachers. But I also know that 98% of the land in Kansas is privately owned. They want to get new hunters, but there aren't that many places for that many people to hunt.

The new house we just moved to, we have had tons of vehicles going slow down the road looking for deer. Sad thing is, the houses aren't that far apart, maybe 10 acre plots each and most of the land is behind the houses. First person I catch shooting a deer in my yard I will call the sheriff and they will not take the deer and I will press charges.

Most of that private land is being leased too, and all the bad apples have torked off all the farmers who used to let just about anyone who asked hunt thier land. Now a-days your hard pressed to find a farmer willing to let you hunt his land unless you've known him for awhile.

Some of these poachers carry chain saws with them to cut off heads when they shoot the deer - pieces of chit leave the rest to rot.

Just found out there has been an arrest. Go to The Emporia Gazette | emporiagazette.com and you can read all about it.
