Sorry you have to deal with that. Christmas attracts disaster if you ask me. I've had two cars totaled and one oil furnace completely crap out - cost over 2K to replace it - all in the month of December (different years). I think I'd give up celebrating Christmas if all this ridiculous crap would stop happening.
Glad nobody got hurt. Good luck.

Wow...Thank God nobody was hurt Zephri...
Roofs can be fixed...My philosophy is never worry about what can be repaired or replaced...Worry about the things that can't be....

Yeah, a tree impaled your home. Often, though when in the light of tragedy, I try to remember the one who was impaled ON the tree. HE had it worse than any of us did.

Well the tree guys came and removed the tree with a crane, and my range buddy helped temporarily patch up the roof, and put a tarp over it. Excellent timing too cause it just started to snow. The roofing guys will come in about a little under a week.

So, all is well. Oh and merry Christmas to everyone on G&G

Was anyone hurt? Keep in mind it could have been worse and that there are people worse off than you.
I know it is a PITA but you are breathing and moving so it can be fixed, someone being hurt is not so easy.
May things get better for you!

Maybe you should've sealed around the tree, and strung lights on it...

Zephri, we watched that storm system move through Indiana. My husband commented that Indy was really getting pounded. Just when you think you have all your ducks in a row, mother nature comes through and reminds you who's really in charge. Thankfully, nobody was injured and roofs can be repaired. Try and have a Merry Christmas.

Wow...that is a lot bigger than it looked in the first pic.

Are those power lines in the foreground of that second pic?
