latest free gun

here is my latest free gun its a mossberg atr100 in mossyoak cammo i got a nice scope for it too . i paid 298.00 for the gun and another 100.00 for the scope it's .270 i was lookin at the remingtons 770 in the 7mmmags but i kinda fell in love with this one when i picked it up it had a heavier weight to it and felt more solid . but the only problem is i think the scope mounts are a little to close to the gun it functions perfectly but i read in another post that when their scope was too close it messed with the zero so do ya'll think the scope is too close?

Never mind all that; I want to know how you're getting free guns.

He is Dump and dumpster diving for Aluminum and copper scrap and turning it into guns...

I figured that out eventually, Rich. Another case where I get there sometime after the train leaves, I guess.

I'm definitely using the wrong approach. I've been cashing in beer cans and using the money to buy beer...

Good going! Like Moose said, the scope is fine - you can see daylight between it and the barrel - that is good enough. Actually, it looks about perfect to me.

#1 copper is 2.25 lb
#2 copper is 2.15 lb
i did a home bore sighting job today i set the gun up on a chair and took the bolt barrier out . then i put a target on the wall about 25 feet away i then lined up the inside the barrel with the center of the target then i zeroed my scope to the target. so how close should that get me??

If you zeroed it in at 25 feet...let's do some simple trig.

Just guestimating from the image, you likely have about a descending angle of .382 degrees over 300.007 inches from scope to target.

I can't imagine that'll effect your zero at all.

That should easily get you on the paper at 50 yards and you can take it from there, Tommy.

I had never seen bore sights until my nephew used one with one of my Mosins, but now I'm a believer.

for 20 minutes a day 6 days a week me and my son go to the dump and we pickup the peices this is what i do with it.a regular job i would be in a workplace for 8hours or more and pay taxs. now sure i would love to work but there ain't a company around that would hire me so i'm stuck doing this oh i'm almost finished my fire pit too.i just need a few loads of limestone boulders and it will be done. but getting back to the guns . i really can't and don't shoot them and if i was to put the money in the bank it would get spent on something none material . atleast this way my kids will have a nice collection and some stories to tell of how the guns were bought to thier kids. like this mossberg i took my oldest son to by a car amp and on the way i stopped at sports academy and i let him pick it out and i let him pick out the caliber and scope so he feels like he had a great part in the details of buying the gun.i try to get them to come with me when i buy all my guns but most times they don't want to but now my oldest son is coming around to it and is starting to talk to me more so if this is what it takes i guess thats what it takes . i know next year i have to get a deer hunting lisense so i can go sit in the stand with him so he can shoot iti want to be there(i'll close my eyes when he shoots the poor animal and i'll kneel down next to him and say a prayer for the deer but as long as it gets eatin i'm ok with it .I JUST DON'T LIKE TROPHY HUNTERS !!!!!!!! you know the ones who hunt just for racks and chunk the meat that ticks me off. i can't wait to see him shoot it. my youngest son wat a chricket.
