Well we all hope it turns out like it should . This dept did charge an officer with murder this year. And another is still being investigated , from August both from shootings in the line of duty. But since there is a video of this one it should be easier on the officer.

I have no sympathy for anyone committing a crime. Robbery, burglary and the like are a dangerous profession. If you don't want to get shot, get a real job.

If our politicians would quit fighting amongst eachother, and pass a law requiring all law-abiding citizens to go to school, learn to handle firearms responsibly, get their CCW, and give 'em a ticket if they get caught with an empty holster, this country would be one helluva lot safer. The bad guys would decide to go to England where they can sue if they stub a toe while beating the snot out of you in your own bedroom.Scotty

Not going to school is just one of the problems and theres many that arn't going.
My wife and son both taught school and by the time some make it to the 7th grade there so dam stupid and cause trouble they get permently ex-spelled or quit.
They can't get hired or don't want to work so I suppose we'll see a lot more of this on a larger scale than we do now as days pass.

I feel so bad for all the good officers out there that run into dirtbags and have to defend themselves, and then have to turn around and defend themselves against the bleeding- heart left while getting over the trauma of using deadly force. And believe me, there's trauma even when the a$$hole deserved just what he got.

Nothing pisses me off more than people who try to take what's not theirs and what other people have worked so hard to get. I agree with AH that the problem is much bigger than just "outting another bad guy" but I have no sympathy for him. He went into a store with innocent people in it with the intention of killing anyone that got in his way.

Shakepeare had one of his characters say in one of his "History" plays I get confused as to whether it is Henry IV or Henry VI But one of the ne'er do wells in one of those plays says and I quote "first we kill all the lawyers."----I'm not condoning that particular method of elimanation. But we certainly have to get a whole new set of polititicians and do it pdq or this country is finished as we and the founding fathers envision it should be!

I agree totally two-70. But for the time being ( 18 more years god willing )I'm still involved.
But we as officers spend alot of time learning to survive a deadly force encounter, and although it's sad to say sometimes we survive only to be ruined by the aftermath (civil if not legal). Not to mention this day and age every move you make , decisions that are made in fractions of seconds. The lawyers and the media spend months, if not years picking apart. It makes many people who got into law enforcement " to make a difference" realize it may not be worth it. We are already seeing critical shortages of LEO's across the country. And it's only going to get worse.
I know the last thing i want is anything to do with a deadly force situation , not to say I'll avoid them cause i won't ,but i say a little prayer everyday. Anyway with k9 we really can't avoid them we follow the dog.

I TAKE MY HAT OFF TO YOU GUYS.If it wasn't for you, it would be anarchy. They thought the wild west was bad. And the worst part of it is you can study, but you still have to deal with the emotions after being forced into a shooting. You folks upholding the law are my Heroes.

I think that if an LE officer follows procedure he should be shielded by his department and the department should be charged. I hate how departments send LEs into harms way and then throw them to the wolves when there's backlash.
