In post # 10 Billy expresses my feelings eloquently. Live and let live. Believe what you want but don't try to force your beliefs on others.

I sure don't mind stepping on anyones toes here. I love the Lord Jesus Christ and I know that he is as real as the sun thats comeing through the window right now.
It is my duty as a Christian to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and what he did on the Cross for everyone.
If you don't accept it thats between you and God not me...A.H

Thanks for your comments Windwalker...wonderful things they are, our freedoms of choice and belief.
I firmly agree with Billy in how he recognized your gentle soul...you're a peacemaker, and we could use many more like you. While you stand strong in your choices and beliefs, you don't stand on other's toes while doing so.
If anyone challenges or denies the freedom of choice and belief to one, in an effort to promote their own choice and belief, we've got a problem brewing...
Thanks again.

Mr. Rasterman, my neck only gets red when I've been out on the tractor too long. People who use derogatory names seriously, cannot be taken seriously. I don't mind being called a hillbilly, after all, I live on a hill, and my Dad's given name is Billy. But if someone uses it on me in a demeaning way, Look Out!!!!! I will turn into a very upset human being who knows how to get ahead. My Dad said getting even ain't enuff, got to get ahead. Scotty

Scotty | You make it sound like I called you a redneck, I was referring to ignorant people with a derogatory viewpoint on hunting and guns.

Bravo, I think this type of perspective wisdom could change the way people view gun and hunting enthusiasts, at least among those who think of us as rednecks.
| Possibly, but we should feel safe as long as we stay true to our constitution. Our guns are ours for personal defense. Both against crazy drug addicts and an uprising of our government. They will never take hunting away, even if the guns are gone. The animal population has to be controlled.
Anyway, a lot of good thoughts have been presented here, and you make a lot of good points Rasterman.

I think if people stop thinking of guns and crime as the same thing the result would be less guns in crimes. Here in Canada stabbing is more common does that mean we need knife control.. how will I eat steak?
Politicians have used gun control only as a means of appeasing the ignorant public, we always need to remind them that the majority feels otherwise.

As long as the politicians can pass "feel-good" laws and appease the uneducated who think that a politician is the next best thing to God (no names please although I can think of more than a few) we the common folk of this country are in grave danger of having our rights usurped by the unscrupulous
Nuff said; let's move on.

there are many people that i am diametrically opposed to in just about anything they believe in EXCEPT we both like guns.
being threatened with an imaginary afterlife punishment isnt going to change my mind.
vote pro gun thats all we can do.

I agree billy but what of the other issues, do you have to sacrifice one thing for another? I guess it's kind of like women, you can ask for alot but be happy if you get one that likes/puts up with hunting and guns!

The biggest liars and the most disapointingly bad people that I have known through out my life have claimed to br people of god. They go to church every week, they preach to everyone on how they should live there lives and condenm anyone who doesnt say they beleive like them. They boast themselves as being true, but I have been witness to their lies, greed, and vanity. All men are capable of evil and can easily fall into coruption. For the honnest man who can admit this I can respect them. It's the self rightous I despise. I beleive in god, I also think jesus was a great man. So was Buhda, and ghandi. Organized religion is corrupt because it is controlled by man. If you dont agree then why is the company I work for building a 5 million dollar addition on a church? Also why did I hear more about the church wanting my money more than about god? When did god decide that my money is the cause of the universe to be? Come on give me a break and dont be so blind church is corrupt.

Meatloaf, I also have met many of the people you describe, the liars and the self righteous, but I have also met some people who actually do try to live their lives according to the Bible, will make a special effort to help the needy and less fortunate, and do try to make the world a better place. I do admit that I have met many more of the former than the latter but there are some of them out there. As to the 5 million dollar building addition, I would think that using part of this money to help the needy in their church would have been more in line with God's work than building Him another building.

We can argue about who's right, and who's wrong, until the sun comes up, and I'm pretty sure we will all remain stuck in our ways. But let's all come together in support of our 2nd Amendment rights, that IS one thing we all have in common.

As stated before , there have been a few good philosifers through the ages, Buddah, Confucious, Gandhi, Mark Twain, however none of these men have, as Jesus does, irevoccable proof that they have risen from the dead. A true Christian does not judge another person, ( Ow Ow Ow I have a beam in my eye. For those of you that know the parable.) No one should force his/her belief on any one else, Its just that we real Christians want to share the good news with everyone. Unfortunately there are the zealots in evry facit of life who hurt the cause. Everyone has free will and choice, thank goodness.
