The firing pin seems too short...

My neighbor bought a used New England Firearms Pardner Model SB1 single shot 12 ga used at a garage sale. He bought a box of shells and they dent the primer, but don't fire.

He's a disabled vet of Viet Nam era and he wanted it for home defense as well as deer hunting from a blind since he's pretty well wheel chair bound.

Anyway, where would I find a new firing pin for this?

It looks like I could drive out some pins through the receiver to get it apart to replace the parts, but I need the part. Thanks for the info.

First, Push out the firing pin/release lever retaining pin...Then you can extract the firing pin and spring for inspection...If bent replace it, however check the hole for crud first, if the pin is not bent...May just need cleaning, or the spring may be bent and causing excess friction...Re-insert the pin and check for protrusion if the pin is not bent...it should protrude out of the hole as much as the diameter of the pin .055 to .060....If OK, Reassemble.
E-gun parts should have the pin if you need a new one.

Thanks Mooseman, The pin looks bent when you observe from the small hole. I think it was hit by the ejector as it was a little rusty and kind of cruddy. It doesn't come out more than about .015. I went to Numerich eparts and found the new pin and spring and even two extra retainer pins in case I screw them up like I usually do. Since I tried to call the order with part numbers first, I got a coupon for free shipping if I ordered on line. Saved about $5. Neat. I've bought from them before for my PA-63 pistol but had forgotten about them. Thanks. All the parts will cost about $14 so we're getting off cheap.

By the way, Christmas is still going. I traded my S&W Sigma 9mm for a Stevens 5100 20 ga today. I liked that pistol, but love the shotgun especially now that I have it really cleaned up and ready to hunt!! No more rust or pits. Happy new year!!
