Just a quick question.I have been using Lee auto primes to load my primers into my cases for as long as ive been loading.I have been through a few of them now.I would have got near 50.000 rounds primed with the first one before the handle broke.A very good run.The next one would have been lucky to do 4000.The same thing the handle snapped.Warrenty covered it.The next one has loaded at least 20.000 so far.
How many rounds have you loaded with yours?
And what are you using?Is it a Lee,rcbs your press?
Rockchucker, autoprime w/100 primer tube. I was wondering about the hand priming tool. Is that what you arereferring to? A BR guy told me it is much more sensitive and seats the primers better. Anyone know about this?

I've loaded probably 15,000 with the original Auto Prime that I got with my Anniversary kit. I want one of the RCBS hand primers with the universal shell-holder so you don't have to change shell-holders, but I don't like the way the handle works or the spring tension-it's a bit stout when priming several hundred cases.
I've had mine for 30 years and over 50,000 rounds primed...I use A Lyman Turret press,a Texas Turret press, and I just got a Dillon 550 I havent set up yet.

I am just about to buy a dillon 550 MM.What calibres are you getting ?I have to load a heap of 9mm 45acp and 308.Plus 44magnum.Am thinking of getting a whole tool head and powder thrower for each cal so i can leave them set up.One thing that worries me is the stroies of dillon priming systems making primers explode in the tube?Or is that only the 650 that does it?
After Reading this thread, I went out and bought a Lee Auto-Prime, and the Shell-Holder Set for $20 OTD for the whole shootin' match.
The guy said it was a good deal for up here! The only down side is it didn't come with the shell holder for 7.62x54R, #16 (shell holders 1-5, 7-11, and 19).
Is it a good deal?

Have seen the rcbs primer but never had a go
I got 12 sets of dies with mine...Listed on another thread somewhere...Never heard of primers exploding!
Mine came with ALL the tool head plates, electronic primer warning system, 32 lbs. of powder and 4-5000 bullets, tools,scales,powder measure, tumbler and all for 500.00 US !!!

Steve, that's a very good deal if you got the shellholders with it. I don't think you'd be able to match that down here in the "real world".
I haven't any idea how many cases I have primed with the RCBS version.
The only complaint I have is that I used to develop a blister on the spot where the thumb and index finger meet.
I now take a piece of pipe insulation foam and put over the handle and it solves that issue. A new piece of foam lasts about 400 rounds but it's well worth my time.

I broke the handle on My auto primer to so I ordered Two from Lee havn't broke the second one yet I think it has to do with that feller Murphy if You don't have the parts to fix it that's what will break

I have 2 Lee auto primes, one setup for small primers the other for large. There is no telling how many thousands cases these things have primed!!! I'd bet 20K each or so.

I hand prime only. There is no "feel" to the presses if not set exactly. Its easy to crush the primers or not know if seated fully.
It gives me something to do while watching TV.
And I dont like primer tubes.
I was planning on buying another Lee Primer tool so I don`t need to change the small to big primer thingy.. I will one day maybe.
I just did that with a factory second straight from Lee. Think it was around 8 bucks with shipping. I cannot tell from looking at it why it is a second.

Yeah, I just got a Mosin Nagant 91/30 and was disappointed to find that out myself. But I am glad the shellholder kit has an empty slot marked extra.
