303/35 or 357 maxi

I have been thinking about chamberinga smle in 303/35.There is a couple places here who can make dies and will make a barrel.Just thinking about the 45/70 conversions.Has anyone seen a 357 maxi chambered smle?I realise the action strength would limit its performance and it might be better to do the job on a no4 or a no3.

i have also dreamed of a 35/303, maybe on a ross action or a p14. right now i'm limited to a 22/303, 6mm303 epps, and a 25/303. it's fun sizing the brass, working up loads, shooting the old rifles, but when it comes to shooting a deer i always take the 30-06

Just being pedantic but a SMLE is a No1 NOT a No4

A No4 is sometimes incorrectly called a SMLE but that does show that the speaker is not an Enfield enthusiast.

The SMLE (Short Magazine Lee Enfield) was so designated until 1926 when it was re-named to the "Rifle No1" so to be totally correct any Number 1 Lee Enfield only existed after 1926, and SMLE's only existed until 1926. In all repects just a renaming exercise - the rifle remained identical.

Further models such as the No4 and the No5 correct designations are "Rifle No4" & "Rifle No5"

Sorry about that. I'm not real knowledgeable on them. But I like them.
Thanks for the info and teaching me something.

I have been thinking about the 303 Epps in one of my rifles. I am not sure if I want to convert my Sporterized No. 4 or the new P-14 action I have.

Roverboy hope you get the rifle and be sure to post pics of it here when you do. They are alot of fun to shoot.
