Here is a pic of a one my firend owns. We had a blast this day at the range. I had my standard 10/22 there with a newly mounted scope and after I sighted it in we each fired mearly 500 rounds. It was a very fun time.
He had some dovetail rings for his scope this day and I suggest that you get weaver rings. It should come with a compination dovetail/weaver base. With the dovetails the scope would not hold zero. He has since changed and no problmes. As for the gun it is a very nice looking gun the stock looks great as does the barrel. It shoots well and is very reliable with quality ammo. Will jam up once in a while with the cheap bulk stuff, not really a problem though and no different them my 10/22. It stays right on target when you shoot as the heavy barrel makes the recoil disappear.

hello im new to the world of fire arms and would like some advice
wel ive recently had my licence thru for a .22rm 222. i also perchesed my first rifle the otha day a ruger 10/22 semi auto. after zeroing in ive managed to hit targets constantly at a distance off roughly 80yds with a grouping 0f about an 1inch with the wiinchester subsonic super x. ive also tried the remington hv and find these to be firing slightly higer. i am after some advice please on what is the best ammo for my gun on vermin eg rabbits squirells. also why do the remington every now and again sound more like concord breaking the sound barrier many thanks!
Hi I just picked up a K10/22-TS this week and fired only 50 rounds from it so far ! The barrel was in contact with the stock and so I opened up the channel for a no contact fit and will see if it shoots any better soon ! This is my first 10/22 and like it so far !
Although mine isnt a Stainless, I love my 20" match grade heavy barrel. You can shoot them all day without worring about heat build up and they arn't that much heavier. I bought it and a Houge overmolded stock for 135.00 thru J & G. For varments I prefer my 17 HMR, even though it is little more expensive to shoot.

Hi I checked out the 17 HMR and found that it cost 10 times as much to shoot as 22LR and could not get ammo at the local gunshop and found only 200 rounds at the big box stores I went to. I think I will go with the 17 Rem.Fireball and Rem.model 7 rifle and load my own ammo for it.
Yes, the 17 HMR is consideribly more expensive to shoot, I pay 12.85 a box of 50. Thats why I own my souped up 10-22 also. I dont think that you will find the 17 Rem.Fireball that much cheaper. I like the velocity and long range accuracy of my 17 HMR as long as the winds not blowing to hard. As far as finding ammo, I live in the middle of knowhere and it is readily available, and very popular, for coyotes, rabbit, armadillo, stray cats ect.
What is this new ".17 Remington Fireball" going to accomplish that the standard .17 Remington won't? Bill T.

Hi Here is a pic of my new K10/22-TS for you to see ! It shoots 1.5 inch groups at about 50 yards but I did a little work on the stock and I hope to do better next time out !

I think you better check on that. Unless I'm mistaken, the new "Fireball" round is a necked down Remington .221 Fireball case from the old XP-100 Bolt Action Pistol case from the early 60's. It's much smaller than either the .222 or .223. Bill T.

Thank you billt ! You are right and there would be no using my old 223 brass for it and no savings $ there so the 17 Rem. is the way for me to go ! Thanks for the info !
The scope he has on there is a Tasco if I remember right. Not my choice but it works well for him.
Here is my setup that I was shooting that day. We were shooting up to 50 yards and I think that I was just as accurate as he was. we shot each others and I were shooting about the same. I suppose he might have had slightly tighter groups out of his.
I have been thinking about upgradng my barrel and stock to a heavy barrel version but I have other gun related projects I am saving for.

If you dont mind Black, J&G Sales has a really good deal on a stock and match grade heavy barrel for 138.00 ? I bought on and really like the way the gun shoots now, It is a Houge overmolded stock with the textured rubber Houge coating and sling studs and a Clerke match grade heavy barrel. It was an excellant fit and shoots excellant.

I had to do some work on the K10-22TS. Stoned the hammer radius and engagement areas/ Polished the sear/reset and disconnector/ Replaced the trigger return spring/ Auto-bolt release modded/Added VQ bolt buffer.The trigger is much lighter and without any creep now. My groups are now less than .5 inch at 50 yards. I think that I can do better with more practice. It's a great little gun!
I just bought a 10-22 like this. stainless bull barrel the kid behind the counter said that these barrels are hammer formed. but i cant find any info. does anyone have input on how these are formed.
