I would like to here what long term XD owners more knowledgable than myself think about using spray can action cleaners, the ones that remove oil and gunk and evaporate quickly leaving behind no residue what so ever, to clean the XD poly frame once gun is disasembled, as this would greatly haisten my cleaning.
I ask because all the cans I own have warnings written on them that the cleaner my harm synthetic finishes and or materials.
I called Springfield and talked with a CR who told me the XD poly frame is impervious to such cleaners, but I would like to check with the people at this site just as a back up.
I would go with Dura-Coats TruStrip Cleaner/Degreaser.. it's a little on the expensive side, but it leaves no residue and evaporates very fast.. it's what I use when I Dura-Coat any weapon, and I've used it on metal, thin plastic, polymer, and wood.. very good stuff..

Look for one's that are made for synthetics. I think Gun Scrubber makes one. Also unclorinated cans of brake cleaner work great and are about 1/3 to 1/2 the price!
