Saw lots of SKS in the movie "Rescue Dawn". A movie about an escapee from a Laos prisoner of war camp in the early years of the conflict. It is a ture story and the movie is about a 5 on the 10 scale. Details if this fellow can be found here:

Said, one of the survivors who is an Iraqi who used to work for the Ba'athists, has been shown with an SKS in Season Three. I don't like the show (to my immense annoyance, my wife watches the thing on DVD in the bedroom) for a number of reasons, and the magical appearance of firearms that somehow always seem to have lots of ammo is one of them.

Oh yeah: the current crop of bad guys seem to be armed with AKs.
