I am a Marketing Director for a small manufacturing company. Freelance graphic designer, logo designer and I just freelanced some senior pictures for a kid who has 15 brothers and sisters, so I did it for free because I figured his parents had better things to spend their money on. Nothing interesting to take any pictures of, everyone's seen a computer.

Okay, truck is in " cold start " position:
The stick is on the throttle is for fast idle, cuts down on building up the air time, the bungie is to hold the steering, for some reason the truck will slowly articulate if left standing still, which loads up the pump and thus the engine, and it`ll labour and stall.
As for naps, for shits and giggles I sometimes shut my eyes and dare myself to see how long I can shut them as I drive along.
It sounds worse than it is, I`m more likely to stray off course if I drop something or try to locate a rattle or perhaps some vermin loose in the cab, and then its like: wow wtf am I? generally it`s all good, cept once I ran over a big arse ant hill tuning the radio, that was a jolt back to the real world.

I'm an operating engineer for a gas utility, at a compressor station on the border of Arizona and California; here are a few random pictures.
View between Compressor Plant #1 and Gas-Cooling Tower #1. The contrails point the way to L.A....
The Control Room, where I spend a big chunk of my twelve-hour shifts hanging out:
The squarish building with the windows is Auxiliary Power Building #2. Behind it is Compressor Plant #2, partially obscured by its Jacket-Water Cooling Fin-Fans:
A couple of views of the swimming pool/rec area, with a full outdoor kitchen. Back in the forties when this place opened, they needed to sweeten the pot a little to get employees to move into the middle of nowhere. So they provided these amenities, as well as company housing:
When I get a chance, I'll take a few pictures of the original 1940's equipment that's still running.

Typically we'll have a couple running at a time out of a total of five, idling along at about 150 KW each.

I'm a entrepreneur. Buy/Sell real-estate small time, and sell for my dad's company on a much larger scale. We just sell land no houses though.
Here is a little project I've been on for the past few months. There is nothing else in life i could ever see myself doing other than selling land. Pick my own hours, rewarding helping people find something they have been looking far, and i can't complain about the pay other than having to hold back my own taxes. "Nothing like having 30,000 sitting in an account waiting for uncle same to come take it" I'm 20 and this is my first job worth noting and the idea of giving up money i've worked for is sickening. It's like i work for four months a year for nothing Every body pays, guess it's just a fact of life.
I'm also a full time college student and can't stand it. My parents insist i get an education, so i'll keep being "educated" as long as they pay the bill. When i'm not working or at school i play/work on my bug out vehicle my 1981 jeep. |

Nice jeep, nice job, Big Tool. Doing the taxes the way you do makes them visible and feelable, doesn't it?

troy2000,
You don't work out of Topoc, Arizona do you. Used to be leased to Jack B. Kelly and hauled liquid natural gas all over for them. Never could figure out El Paso Gas for putting a plant that compressed natural gas to -300 degrees in a place with average temps of 120 degrees.
