While at the gun range this weekend, my AK47 began double jamming. It would not eject the spent casing causing the next to jam also while using a clip. I tried cleaning it, using a different brand of ammo and inserting the ammo manually one at a time. It still wouldn't eject. It will eject manually no problem. Any suggestions?
May be the gas hole in the barrel is partially blocked and the bolt is not going back all the way?
Something blocking bolt?
Was it operating OK before?
Do you have a buffer installed?
I'm betting on a bad/weak magazine spring... at least, for the double feeds. Try a different magazine before tearing it apart. I think Rave is on the right track with a gas issue too.
Just bought a used AK, having the same problem. Not ejecting properly causing constant jams. Changed mags, same problem. Suggestions before I return it? Thanks, Tom
Are you getting trigger slap? Check your FCG and make sure your disconnector is in one-piece. I was having jams out of the blue with my WASR and ended up breaking the disconnector and a whole lot of headaches.
I don't think it would be the gas block, they are kind of designed so that it is next to impossible for them to get completely blocked. Unless you had something like varnish or paint that got in there.

And what is the FCG ????? and I don't think {?} I am getting trigger slap.
Tom
The fire control group, trigger group or whatever you want to call it. The disconnecter is kind of shaped like a little foot and sits directly above the trigger towards the rear of the trigger hook(s). It is held in place by the pin that goes through the trigger and has a tiny spring in between it and the trigger. The place that breaks is where the pin runs through it, before it breaks it will interfere with the bolt moving back as it hinders the ability of the hammer to lock in the trigger hook(s). You will feel this hang-up through the trigger where it will almost smack your finger, it will get really painful before it breaks completely. To check it, first if your getting trigger slap you may have a problem already, but pull the pin for the trigger, take the hammer spring off the trigger and it should drop out, there is a sleeve holding the disconnector and trigger together. inspect the area around where the pin goes through the disconnector.
FWIW before my disconnector began to break I was not getting slap, I only got slap about 10-rds before it went POOF!. Prior to the break I was getting a lot of feed related jams and was scratching my head over what was causing these problems that weren't there prior.
This happened on my WASR after about 600 rounds through it, I replaced it with a US made trigger group. In my Saiga I use the Arsenal Inc. trigger group, I find them to be more to my liking for a battle rifle, the TAPCO ones are only about a 2lb. trigger pull which is way too light. The Arsenal is 4-6 or there about.

Thanks for the advice guys, but I can find nothing wrong/broken with this gun. I'm guessing it's just had the PISS beat out of it and that's why it was for sale when these guns are otherwise hard to find right now.
I"m gonna return it today and pick something else up is an Assault rifle.

The chamber could possibly be too tight. My sons AK would jam all the time.It was a nice single shot. Sent it back to Century and what they did was to polish the chamber like a mirror. The chamber before was in a very rough state of finish. It would feed, eject every dummy round I put through it, but it wouldn't eject a fired round, ESPECIALLY IN BRASS!! It now will shoot everything but it still doesn't like brass, only steel. Your AK sounds just like my sons AK. (his is a WASR3). Try using a piece of scotchbrite pad and a chamber brush, chucked up with a piece of cleaning rod in a drill. Scrub/polish the beejeepers out of it,(the chamber), using carb cleaner. It helped with the son's AK but we still had to send it back.
