That was an odd video by a rather odd man, actually a very odd man. Some of his logic is flawed but I know what he is trying to say.

I think the "intent" is what makes a weapon a weapon. A big sword can cut a steak like a steak knife but a "weapon" is intended to kill with more efficiency than a steak knife... Come on... Please. A gun is for killing, not for tenderizing a cut of beef or poultry. Yes, a screw driver can be used to kill... as can a bath tub.

I still and will always support my right to own a "weapon" for killing and to protect myself and my loved ones... even against a screw driver or bath tub or any criminal wanting to take my life.

I still remember the gal who stabbed her boyfriend to death with a screwdriver, because he was beating her. While she was waiting for the cops his brother got there first, and she had to kill him too. With the same screwdriver.

That was in Hawaiian Gardens, CA, I think. But it's been so many years since it happened I'm not sure anymore.

Bless this guy's intentions, but I'm not going to mealy-mouth and call my guns tools.
They're weapons pure and simple, front and center.

If I use them for plinking they're also toys; if I use them to hunt they're also harvest tools; if I fondle them they're....um....well...never mind.

The point is that in essence and in fact they're weapons just as surely as a spear is, and I make no apologies for the fact. Anyone have a problem with that?

As far as I'm concerned, firearms are tools, too. they have an intended use, the purpose of many being to put meat on the table. I have some other tools that were designed with the protection of my family and home in mind. Each type of tool is designed for a purpose, but some folks use them for other things. Those are the people the politicos oughta be going after, them who abuse tools. And I don't know about you all, but that makes sense to me! Scotty
