Thumbs up Sweet loads

Tried some loads with Varget this week and I must say I'm getting there. Got hole touchers with 168 gr/ 42 gr SMK and got 3/4 inch groups with 165 SBT gr/43.5 gr loads. the 150/42 gr Rem Corlockt got touchers too. But it dirtied the barrel more. Win 150 PS measures 2.70, while Federal Gold match measures 2.81 and both are accurate. Just tried a 2.81 168 SMK dummy round, and it chambered great, so I'll try it on some 168's at this length. This could be optimum for my Stevens .308.

Way to go.I like Varget pretty well and dont pay as much attention to distance from riflings as what is most accurate and will function in the action.Have you tried pushing that varget a little hotter? The reason I mention it is we found little difference at 100yds in group size but at 300yds we shot a tighter moa than we did at 100yds. sam.
