That would be a good plan but needs some refinement. Most pencil eraser
ferrules (at least mine are) are around .314", too big for the bore of the weapon.
Of course it doesn't take but a few seconds to strip out a pin and examine it. I am going to run a test right now.
I just timed myself and from dropping the mag, checking the chamber, remove the slide from frame and remove the pin from the slide then reassembly took 35 seconds. I impressed even myself.
I have seen a "smith" set up a trigger on a DAO Taurus with an alumium rod. He would drop the rod down into the barrel and pull the trigger noting how far the rod would jump out of the barrel.
