Public "threatened" by private firearms ownership

This article seems to infer that the Bush administration is in favor of the DC ban.

What they neglect to recognize is that DC has the same restrictions as the rest of the country, but also have their own draconian total ban, which is unacceptable under the second amendment. Scotty

They should stop trying to interpret the 2nd amendment for what they think it means. They need to think back to what the nation's founders actually meant when they wrote the Bill of Rights.

They are still trying to figure out how to get around the 2nd amendment so they can disarm the public. Every little piece they can get by with brings us closer. They seem to pass restrictions on liberty during their late night or weekend sessions when they think nobody will be watching. Then suddenly on the back pages of the newspaper there is a tiny article about a new law that has been enacted.

Yeah, common sense would dictate that!

I often thought, that our elected officials, should be required some "continueing education" in history.
Specially with 2 areas in mind,, Our "Bill of Rights", and the rise and fall of past democracies.

They say hindsight is 20/20,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but don't do much good if you don't use it.

The WND poll showed that most people believe that the 2nd Amendment empowered the individual, not the government. I wholeheartedly agree that it is an individual right and was meant to be that way by our Founding Fathers.

I spent a little time reading up on this. If I understand correctly, the Justice Department people do want the right to keep and bear arms declared an individual one, and they aren't really arguing to keep D.C.'s ban either. Instead, they're defending their own turf and asking the Court not to get carried away with their decision. They're worried that federal restrictions on machine guns, sawed-off shotguns, destructive devices, etc., will also be invalidated if the Court rules too broadly.

While this article tends to piss me off, you sometimes have to take a look at who is writing the article, and who is posting it. I take a lot of internet articles with a grain of salt, and im not sure all that many people will take this clown seriously. He has zero facts in his article, only his pin-headed opinion. If the public was truely as threatend as he claims it already is, we would be a lot more like the UK than we already are.

However, there are dimwits that will take him seriously, and those are the ones we have to worry about, and are the ones who will fight us for our rights.

It's my ego, Mike. I can stand people disagreeing with my opinions, but I just hate it when they prove me wrong on the facts.

It probably helps that I'm a fast reader, too...

Thumbs up

My biggest fear/concern is the huge number of people voting with NO idea of the issues at hand, but willing to give the nod to the candidate who pulls their heart-strings best.
Vote with your mind, not your emotions!
