It appears our country doesn't have enough convicted felons! So we must create more! create a problem to apply a solution? what better way to inslave a nation then by their owning asking

*Sighs and shakes head*.

I too, am amazed it go that far in the "justice" system. Okay, that's a little unlike me to to say it that way, but it seems so true in this case.

Something caused this to be railroaded to this extent. Had to be. Hopefully it'll be thrown out on appeal, as is likely.

This is also a good opportunity for me to toss out something I'm on a kick on today for some reason.

This stuff is why we need both sides of the political spectrum working on this. Notice, a couple of LEOs got this ball rolling. They are not, by and large, taken as an aggregate, spectacularly Left-leaning in their political views. But they went way past the point of "Oh hey, a malfunction, you're in the Guard huh? Well, go get that fixed willya?" and decided it was an enforcement matter.

I'm just tired of partisan locksteps and Left and Right being at each other's throats when we need both sides to make the country work. Both sides just gotta realize when to cut it the hell out and be rational. Because for every Right-leaning person who'll bring this stuff in, there's a Left-leaning person working in the court system that'll try and prosecute it.

I did like the issue that was brought up in the article about double-barreled shotguns. It might actually be a salient legal point. Does anyone know if shotguns and "machine guns" have any overlap in classification at all? Stating that a shotgun could slip into another category because of a malfunction may help get the entire legal basis of this thrown out, I'd imagine. Anyone know the details?

but look at the time and money it will cost him to beat it??
