Ok it's a bit late but I'll try to correct soem missinfrmation here:-
Parker-Hale did not start making the Mauser actioned sporting rifles until their move to the Golden Hillock Road site in 1962. The move was enforced due to city centre improvements and a new road scheme meaning that their old home was being dimolished. Iron_Colonel
has an earlier Safari Standard.
Parker -Hale Rifles were never Made anywhere but Birmingham, ENGLAND . The company was bought out in 1991 and moved to the U.S. and became Gibbs Rifle Company and production of rifles ceased in 1994... |
Actually Bremmer Arms
part of Modular Industries brought out Parker-Hale and the factory actually closed in 2000. The tie up with Gibbs was an umitigated diaster and probably illegal too.
rifle is a 1200 Super.
Now my search about Parker-Hales began with the purchase of a model 1100 De Luxe in 30-06 and after being told be about five different people, dealers and two ex P-H employees, that it was a Safari, Super Safari and a Safari deluxe
it was the lucky discovery of a P-H catalogue #73/4 on a stand at a Bisley Arms fair that i brought as it had my rifle in it and yep it's an 1100 De Luxe:-
Since then I have been looking for and gathering more Parker-Hale catalogues and am still looking for more especially for the later period of 1975-1985 and 1985-1999.
