California Common Sense, Pt. 1

With California's nutty gun laws, it's easy to forget that there are still plenty of places in the state where the Second Amendment is alive and well. But not every left-coast town is as anti-gun as San Francisco or Los Angeles.

In Bakersfield, California, for example, Sheriff's Sgt. Ed Komin talked to the local media after a homeowner used a firearm to scare away an intruder.

He told the reporters, "Certainly when the homeowner was threatened by what appeared to be a gun coming up toward him, it would be appropriate and prudent—and that's the thing to do, is to use deadly force to protect yourself. That's the appropriate and legal thing to do."

Common sense in California, can you believe it? A big thanks to Sgt. Komin for telling it like it is, not how the anti-gunners would like it to be.

Too bad you probably only heard it here.

Now isn't that the sad but true truth of the matter.

I must also take the time to confess, I was one of the ones that lumped the entire state together. I'll now take this same time to apologize for my thinking and will do my best to remember that MANY of California's gun owners hate the nutty rules as much if not more then most of us!

Well I must admit that other than our Calif. members here, I had began to doubt the sanity of Californians on gun rights and ownership. I don't understand how the good guys could keep reelecting the antigunners. I hope you will finally be able to vote them out. Good Luck.

Windwalker, the California folks who support guns don't keep electing the gun-banners and antigun fascists like Pelosi and Feinstein. It's the rest of the brainwashed sheeple, coupled with the ability of whichever party is in control at a time of redistricting to gerrymander districts, that keep re-electing the brain-dead. We have the same problem here in New York. There is one jackass in particular, a clown named Sheldon Silver, who exerts control over the New York State Assembly that makes what Boss Tweed and Tammany Hall did in New York City in the 1800s look tame. Anything the jerk does not like does not get passed. Some political reporters think he has more real power in state government than the Governor does.

The Californians' best hope for getting the antigunners out of office may be the upcoming general election in November, presuming A) the Supreme Court rules on DC v. Heller by then; and B) that their ruling is a strong affirmation of the Second Amendment as an absolute, individual right, as I pray it will be. If they rule before the election and it's a win for us, the challengers can use the past positions of the antigunners as clubs to beat them to death with at the ballot box. Any good PR firm could whip up a campaign to politically nuke the bastards in about 30 minutes using a positive ruling as the fissionables, because both the swine I mentioned have built entirely too much of their political "success" on their opposition to firearms. A positive ruling would blast the sand out from under their cozy little castles as if hit with water from a firehose, and send them tumbling right into private citizenship.

We can but hope...
