Cheaters do win sometimes!

The Patriots take another step to a historic perfect season. Although I am not a Pats fan, I have to admire the talent and leadership on that team!

Here is to them! If the Packers get by the Giants, I may not be able to watch the game. It will be way too emotional!

As long as no one gets hurt, then win or lose it will be a great game.

Oh boo hoo, cry me a freakin river. All of about 5 minutes of film that was never used. The Patriots won because they are, right now, the best team in the history of the NFL. They work harder, and have more talent in QB then most teams do on both sides of the ball.

I don't think anyone will argue with the Patriots' talent, their dedication, or the quality of their coaching. And if they make it all the way, I'll be impressed; maybe even awed.

But that "5 minutes of film that was never used" was just the last one they took. And being good doesn't give them a pass on cheating.

Personally, I have this weird belief that they shouldn't have been breaking the rules, and deserved the slap-down they got. But that's just me, Pred. I realize believing in honesty is rather quaint of me...

Yes, truth can hurt. The film should have been shown.

The film he's talking about is video footage an assistant was taking of a visiting team's practice, whaich is flat against NFL rules. The coach got slapped with a big personal fine, and the team lost some draft choices.

I'm fine with that. They cheated, they got caught, they got slapped for it and life goes on. But it wasn't the first and only time they had done it.

Someone on another team made a comment along the lines of, "Ol' Billichek believes if you aren't cheating, you aren't trying."

Reminds me of a sales manager when I was selling vacuum cleaners on the side while in the Navy. He believed that if you didn't either make a sale or get thrown out of the house, you hadn't tried everything. So if nothing else worked, he'd start sneering at them and saying, "well, it's obvious you could never afford one anyway; I don't know why I'm wasting my time here."

I never said they didn't cheat, however is there is no proof they took any other footage. And if you plan on arguing that point, save it, because the same thing could be said for any other team. The person who said that was the crybaby piece of trash LT from the Chargers. And no Troy, the footage was not from a practice. The Jets claimed someone was taking video of their coaches calling plays from the first half, of the game. They said they could then take that footage and figure out what plays they were calling from the footage/hand signals. Again, show me proof they've done this before. Because personally I would bet money most every team in the NFL does something to try and get the upper hand. They got caught, oh well.

Ah...I see. The old "everybody does it; they just got caught!" defense.

Jeez, Pred. You sound like a NASCAR crew chief. I'm embarrassed for you.

If you are a head coach, and arn't doing everything possible for your team to win, you should be fired. Just try not to get caught

So your going to sit there and say the Patriots are the only team that has ever cheated in the NFL?

Are you going to sit there and say there's nothing wrong with cheating because others have done it too?

Sounds like an excuse that kids use to justify what they do. Thus the level of mentality these days.

No, I'm not saying what the Pats did was ok and they are somehow justified in what they did. I'm saying that the other teams got exactly what they deserved to the tune of what will most likely be a 19-0 Patriots team. No one could let it go and every player in the NFL started to call the Patriots past 3 Super Bowl wins fake because they cheated. The 72 Dolphins said the Patriots will never be in their league because of what happened. Do I agree with what they did? No. Am I glad they did it? Actually, yes. It's been fun watching them steam roll teams for the past few months.

I love it when I get things stirred up.

Cheating of any kind is not justified. Have other teams done something similar? Probably. But that does not make it right. However, after they got caught and heavily fined everyone was watching them like a hawk. And with that the Pats had the talent and leadership to win. Tell the 72 Dolphins they not only have company in the history books but tell them the Pats are in an entirely different league. They did it with a salary cap, free agency and a draft that is designed to prevent dynasties.

I don't condone cheating or shady activity of any kind. I don't even like trash talking. But there is no denying that the Pats are an amazing team lead by amazing coaches.

I still hate 'em though.

I quit watching pro sports a while back. All of 'em. They all cheat, like the jerks who use steroids. The worst part of it is they're bad examples for our children. If I still had kids in my house, pro sports would be blocked. Lump 'em with the politicos, and you have the most self centered, cheating bunch of people in the world! The highest paid, too! Oh, add in CEO's, etc. Sure there's a few honest souls mixed in there, but you can't see 'em for the rest. Darn it, I was gonna quit doing this. Tex, look what you made me do! Just kiddin', Scotty

Thumbs up

I'm not a patriot fan,but they worked so hard to get to this point I do hope they win the super bowel, and it will be a new point for others to strive to duplicate.
It is an example how,if one tries hard enough one can surmount all odds.
And all of the pros will try to get away with what they can,and a ten yard penalty is better than allowing a touch down.
May the best team win now and always.
