French Model 1935a Pistol - Ammo Question

I came across a listing for one of these on gunbroker.com. (Let's please be adult enough to omit the usual cracks of 'Excellent condition, never fired, only dropped once,' shall we?) The price seems dirt cheap for what it is; but the seller, a private owner liquidating a collection and not a dealer, has left me with a question.

He lists the cartridge the pistol is chambered for as '7.65 x 22mm.' Does this variety of 7.65mm cartridge translate to ".32 ACP," or was this pistol chambered for some bizarre proprietary French Army cartridge I've never heard of before?
