Unsuccessful Robber Shoots Self in Foot -- baltimoresun.com

"According to an arrest warrant, Roberts dropped a .45-caliber handgun in front of Gasland USA on Sunday. The gun hit the ground and went off, a bullet striking Roberts in the foot.

Roberts faces several charges that include attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a weapon of mass destruction. Police said the handgun had been altered to fire .410 shotgun shells."

"Altered"? Sounds to me like he was carrying a Taurus' "The Judge" in .45 Colt and .410.

Still and all, funny to see idiots try to commit crimes and do this.

In court recently here, was a man and woman who held up a restuarant or shop, I forget which, what the guy thought was a bag with 30 grand in it, was a bag of bread rolls.

He also shot the chick who was with him in the arse.

Curiously, she got 8 years, he got 7.

I have friends that live in Cherryville, NC, where this took place. They know all the local police officers. (It's a small town, mostly famous for the Cherryville Shooters who shoot off muskets in front of every building in town and recite a rhyme meant to chase evil, bad vibes and witches away on New Year's Day; old German custom the first settlers brought over with them.) I have no doubt I can get the straight skinny from them as to what happened and what weapon Dopey was using.

I called and asked. They said the police weren't sure what it was, a Judge or a SAA. But definitely a revolver.

I do love seeing idiots with guns hurt themselves. I mean...it's so hard to do so accidentally if you have any sort of brain in your head.

But do any legal scholars here understand that WMD charge? How in the world would a 6-shot revolver count? I thought the UN had specific definitions.

If a Judge is a Weapon of Mass Destruction, than me, my wife, and some friends could apparently threaten NATO.
