Fire,Fire the trailers on fire!

Holy shit guys, I had just posted my reply to T2K and Tommy about the vending machines, when my wife comes in the front door yelling the trailers on fire! What! Holy Shit! grab the extinguisher and out the door I go. Where, I look up and the neighbors trailer 2 doors down was blazing. All the other neighbors in the street running in circles yelling oh my god! Go figure, something bad happens and everybody runs in circles never understood that.
I asked if Rita the old lady that lives there got out nobody knew. I looked at my wife and she said no! I said I cant stand here and wait to find out shes in there. I grabed my fire proof gear out of the truck suited up and went to the door. Guess getting laid off is good for something my gears in the truck.LOL
I felt the door it was hot but not burning my hand put boot to door and went in. Didnt find anybody just a cat that was trying to get under the couch, I grabed it by the tail and flung it out the door, looked around again and got out that S.O.B was hot.
Boys the wind is blowing good tonight and the flames caught a big oak tree on fire and the trailer next to it had the siding melting. Burnt the street light power wire in half.
When I came out one of the neighbors asked me if I was crazy, I said would you be asking if that was your trailer she said I guess not. She stood there looking at me kind of strange then finally said your close are smoking, I said do you think I just walked into a burning trailer. Not the brightest bulb on the tree.
When the fire trucks showed up I went back inside, my wife asked where are you going I said inside I got typin and pipin to tell the guys on G&G.
MY wife put toghether a buch of old clothes and blankets for the little old lady and her daughter because they just lost everything. Wifey came into get me said a fireman needed to talk to me. About what! I dont know> Tell him I'm busy trying to tell the guys what happened, that didnt work she gave me that look we all know. So I could not finish and went outside. The man asked me if I was all right I said yes, he tells me takes big cups to walk into a burning trailer. I said I could not stand around, to hear they melted away in there with out trying, and I would hope if it were my trailer and nobody knew if my wife and kids were inside that they would attempt to find out. I told him to have a good night I was going in I had typin and pipin to do.
THEN WIFEY GAVE ME ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE LOOKS. I said its not my fault Tommy started it, blame him.
I guess thats my good deed for the weekend. Poor ladys dont have anything left but the clothes on their backs and what my wife and the neighbors are giving them and the ugly cat whos tail is about 6 inches longer now.
Just goes to show you anything can happen and probably will. They will be in my prayers tonight.
A.H. its time again for one of those powerful prayers that I am growing accustomed to and look foward to as well.
I'm all wound up shoot wont be able to sleep a wink, I guess I can go play smokin gun again.

Man, I applaud you! Too few people these days care, or do more than run around like scared hens. Takes cojones to go in after someone, but that's what 'heroes' do - they help folks without stopping to say, "Hey, I could get hurt here!" No, you DO it! BRAVO!!

Glad the lady and her daughter are alright. They lost everything physical - but gained some friends. Things can be replaced.

Maybe the Good Lord made sure you'd be there, with your gear, when you'd be needed . . .

Thank you for being the man you are and putting it all on the line to try and save someone from a horrible death. The cat is one of God's creatures too. Thanks for saving it. I hope the neighborhood realizes what good neighbor they have. You will all be in my prayers.

Stik, a big pat on the back to you! Very few people would go into a burning structure, it's one of the most horrible ways on earth to die. Three cheers, and my hat's off! Your family has a good man watching over them! I'll try to give A.H. a little help there, with talking to the Lord!

OUTFU__ING STANDING, MARINE.

To do the UNPOPULAR is GUTSY and to do it from the HEART is COURAGIOUS, to do it for no REWARD is HONORABLE, to do it from REFLEX is INTEGERTY.

OUT SIMPLY STANDING.

I SALUTE YOU, you are a neighbor people only dream about, a Man who has his BACKBONE where others keep their WISHBONE.

You're a good and honorable man, stikbutter.

You deserve more respect and acknowledgement than we can give you.

Stikbutter, all I can say is it's a good thing for that cat he hadn't lost his tail in a slammed door like our last tom did; you might have had to grab him by something a little more personal.

Well-done, sir.

No hero here dude, just do what needs to be done. This isnt the first time a body shop blew up and caught fire in Miami behind my shop, and in a small wharehous complex everybodys friends. Same shit people running in circles freaking out. That was the most inteance fire I had ever seen paint cans exploding and flying around the shop really really hot. MY buddy and I could hear the two men inside screaming like little girls, never heard anything like it. Mitch started to go in and said what are you doing, I'm going in I cant listen to that, OK I got your back and in we went. By the time we got to them it was to late these guys were burnt up we grabed one guy at the elbows he stayed and we got flesh. None the less it was to late.
I hesitated at the door kind of got a flash of the other fire and noone had my back but I did it anyway. MY wife says I'm fearless because I dont fear much mainly heights others say I'm just plain dumb, what ever its just the way I am. If its on and I'm there theres no second guessing i got your back.
Neighbors been comeing over all morning since 7:00 am I couldnt sleep till 4:00 am one lady, never even seen her before brought me coffee and dognuts.
LOL Wifey said the cat came flying out the door spinning in circles with its legs straight out for all its worth hit the floor and was gone.
What a mess out there today power company fixing lines that burnt and fell debri everywhere scoop was, grease fire splashed back behind the stove and ran down the wall, the ladys went for help and by the time they got it, was to late.

So please guys no hero here, just an every day Jo hoping someone would do the same for my family, the only reason I posted was I was already on and all wound up. Thanks guys for the pats on the back appreciate it, feels good coming from some top notch guys like you all on G&G.

I found the PIC

Not a residential trailer, but a camper/RV
Similar construction.
We were camping a few years ago and got to witness this one. A retired couple was away at the campground host playing cards. This type of construction really can burn. I think they chalked it up to a faulty gas fridge.

Its all politics dude been in this along time. IN miami there was alot if lay offs because their was less and less union companys. All the companys were going non-union because they had cheap labor with the illegal immigrants. Hire on a couple of journeyman with a attractive pay pkg. and the rest illegal. But it wasnt a big deal I was born there all my old school friends and others that had their own business's so I could muster work where ever I wanted.
Here in TN that good ol boy game is the biggest problem you get pushed down the list and they put the guys that went thru schooling here out to work first.
I dont know people here like I did back home and its a little differant. Ive thought about changing unions to the pipefitters union but than I loose everything I got invested in this one. Even non union I'll loose 3.00 per hour but I can work 6-12's, but again loose everything.
So I dont know I got a few places to look at tommorrow and see one place is 2 hrs. away but the pay is good and alot of O.T. If I take it, in 2 months I can move which is where I want to be on the southern side of the state by Alabama. But we'll see.
