| Senior Member | The sad part around here is that atomatic weapons are illeagle in Canada. This law hoever only seeems to stop law abiding citizens from obtaining them while the real criminals still seem to smuggle them in. Where i live there are two towns about 10 min apart. One is fairly nice with only a few "druggies". However the other town has lower housing costs. This whole town is full of 18-30 year olds that deal drugs and are suers themselves. Crystal meth and pot are major probloms inour area. The writer of the article seems to think that this was an one-off incident. Around here they make a bust like that once or twice a week. I think in the major center abouta n hour from here they made a bust where the person had automatic rifles and about $200000 worht of cocain. I would support this person in feeling that this combination of drugs and guns is not good, but his suggestion of more laws is not good either. Like others said enforce the laws that are in exsistence already. Here we also have a gun-registry. A huge money pit and a huge failure. DO NOT MAKE A GUN REGISTRY! It costs $25 bucks to do it and where does the info go? Knowere that i can tell because i dont think the poilice have used the system once. |
