Congrats to the Giants. As a life-long Patriots fan (Grogan, Flutie years) it is nice to see them doing well... but simply put, the Giants played the better game. Kudos to them.

... there's always next year !

No, the Giants didn't play a better game, the Patriots played a crappy game. If the Patriots had actually stuck to a game plan that would have worked, they would have beaten the Giants by 20 points.

Pred, Yeah. NE did NOT throw to Moss except for maybe 6 times (caught 4 and 1td) towards the end of the game and there was DEFINATELY one questionable play they ran (the time and play escapes me). Past that, Don't be bashin the Giants ESPECIALLY after they won. It makes no sense. Beisdes the mistakes, both teams played really well and regardless who won or lost I will remember that game because of the intensity of it.

I'm bashing the Giants because I honestly don't think they deserved to be there, and they didn't deserve to win. They won, not because of their play, but because of the crappy play of the Cowboys, Packers, and the Patriots. After watching the highlights from the Giants games, it took me all of about 5 minutes to figure out how to beat their pass rush. The Patriots had 2 weeks to do this and couldn't get it done. Brady, shotgun, 2 backs to block, quick slants and screens, 8-12 yards over the middle. Thats it, they would have won.

TBH, Pred, I myself did not think they would go this far either. By your evidence though, they kind of DID deserve to be there because of the sloppy performance of the teams they played. They were underestimated and they won. Does that sound reasonable?

I thought the same thing last night. Now maybe Eli will get to talk in the commercials, instead of playing lap dog to his brother. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

No, it doesn't. If I can run the 40 in 4.6, and the guy I'm running against can run it in 5 flat, who should win? Me. If I slip up and screw myself up and run it in 5.1, and he runs it in 5 flat, he won. But does that mean he deserved it? Does that mean he's better then I am? Better athlete? No, it means he's lucky and my mistake cost me the gold. It's my fault I lost, not their ability that won.

I'm not even going to say anything....

Ok, well...except that, I'm glad Strahan got a ring...I wish someone would have backed Eli's cadillac escalade right over him...

This was supposed to be a Patriots dynasty, not a Manning dynasty....gah.

18-1 sounds so wrong

Pred sounds like to me your a Pats fan who's highly disappointed. The G-Men out played the Pats last night. And thats the bottom line. You can make excuses all day and for the next 7 months but it doesnt matter. Did the Pats make the neccisary adjustments on either side of the ball I dont think so. Did the G-Men I think they did, they found a way to win. Ive been a Steelers fan since Bill Cowher took over in 1992. And when they lost to one of the two teams I dispise the most(Cowboys and Colts) in the SB. I didnt make excuses, yes O'Donnel seemed to have a star on his helmet but bottom line was the Steelers lost. How did I handle it? I wore my Rod Woodson jersey to school the next day. And when everyone was saying this or that. I just asked how far did your team get. After all the Steelers beat the Cowboys twice in the SB already. I do not think that Eli should have been the MVP that should have been the D-line. And I found it strange that you mentioned Palmer in the same breath as Manning and Brady. Palmer hasnt won anything at this level and I beleive he's only lead the Bungles to the playoffs once, and didnt the Steelers knock them out? Palmer is a very good player with some very talented WRs probably more talented WRs than anywhere else in the NFL. But thats enough about that because NO team will win a SB without a very good defense. Even the Colts D stepped it up in the playoffs last season.

Anyone know if this is the first time in history that 2 brothers have won a SB ring in back to back years at QB? Im sure it is as well as the first time 2 brothers won the SB MVP.

And heres another interesting fact, in the past 5-10 years only 1 of the 2 teams in the SB has returned to the playoffs the next season. Wonder which team that will be if this trend holds up.

Your right, I am highly disappointed. The Patriots are worlds apart from Eli and the Giants. They've got a good defense thats built around Strahan. If he's not there, neither is their defense. Their offense? A decent QB at best, decent WR's, and a huge RB that, no matter who it was, at 6'4" 265lbs, would have a 1000 yard season. Did the Patriots make the right adjustments, no, they didn't. Palmer would be a top QB if he had a team that was any count. The fact remains, the Giants are not a Super Bowl caliber team. Did they win it? Yeah, they did. But not because of their talent and ability. They won because of the inability of the other three teams to play at the level they were capable of. I've already posted the formula to beat the Giants, about 3 times actually. I've got no idea what the Patriots were trying to do. Whatever it was, for once, they had no clue.

I guess the Cowboys, Packers, and Patriots are paying for their mistakes. If your gun jams in war, due to your poor maintenance, you have no one to blame but yourself when you get killed. The Pat's came in too cocky; how could they ever lose to a wildcard? This game shows who had the most heart, and who wanted it more. New England could have pulled this off if they came into it with the right attitude.

There has been alot of big back in the history of the NFL who did not run for 1000 yards. Granted Im sure Jacobs is one of the biggest ever. But rember Craig "Iron Head" Heyward? Think his best years was with the Bears or Packers think he only ran for 1000 yards once. Christian Okye, he had a few years before getting banged up and out of the NFL. Guys like Campbell, Bettis, George, might not have been 6' 4" but they all carried well over 225lbs. And honestly the shorter you are imo the better at 6' 4" there is more for defenders to grab ahold of. If I stopped and thought about it I probably could give you a very large list of big backs. DYK, Mike Alstott was going to move from FB to HB but then Warrick Dunn was available for the Bucs in the draft. And I think Charles Way for the G-men several years back could have been a solid HB.
