A PUBLIC reply to Snakebite

Snakebite, you wouldn't allow me to answer your vitriolic message privately, so I'll do it on the public forum. First, if you'd looked you'd have found that I already apologized. Second, I haven't used namecalling and downgrading to make a point. If you really wanted an apology from me, you would have allowed me to reply in private. Many folks here on the forum accepted my apology, and I thank them for that. I was dumb to try to use sarcasm or satire to make the point that police can't be everywhere, and that is why we have the right to defend ourselves. I never meant it as an insult to LEO's, as I have only the greatest respect for 90% of them. I've been around long enough that I've run into some bad ones, and those were the people I was trying to poke. I have apologized a half dozen times. How many more times will it take to satisfy you? And don't you think maybe you owe an apology for the poison you sent me?

Seabeescotty...It was very obvious that you were not serious when you said the donut thing. Listen Scotty, there are quite a few people on here that just lay in wait for somebody to say something that they can run up the flagpole. You were only funnin'. Don't waste any more of your conscience trying to apologize. You don't need to. Fuggum, if they can't take a joke. JB

Scotty you've done no harm. If someone wants to act childish, and resort to name calling, that just shows their lack of maturity. This incident is nothing to get bent out of shape about, your comments were meant as tongue in cheek, and I found them quite humorous, nothing to get truly upset over.

good point

SeeBee: Sir; your much to smart to continue with worrying about this 'stuff'. Sir; you have more than made a good point.

The rest is degrading to you.

None of us is above "pissing" someone off from time to time; it takes a "real" decent person to recognize and take the proper measures.

Sir; now; it is to the 'curb';
garbage man will collect for proper disposal.

Now we can start "anew" God loves you

FWIW SEABEE, I knew you or A.H. meant it. It's something said and joked about even in TV shows and movies. If anyone took offense to it, then they themselves must feel guilty about it? And did I miss something, I didn't now snakebite took offense to it. I thought he was the one that started the thread with the incident? Oh well, it is truly impossible to know whether or not to say something because there will always be someone that takes offense to it or gets hurt.

On another note, I was going to reply to that comment with fact, as I look back on it, I can now laugh but at the time, I was quite concerned. But, I chose not to because I've noticed just with my views and how I tend to look at things, I can see some won't be adding me to any "friend list" any time soon. Although I do my best to just have fun, state how I feel and generally enjoy similar interests and topics with others, I will never be able to have them all as friends nor will you seabee, and no one can please everyone.

If you have apologized, whether it be privately or publicly seabee, it is now out of your hands and you have done the decent human thing you can. It is now out of your control and you have to except that and at the same time the other person has to except your apology and if they don't, that is on them.

In time, most minor things as this, although not forgiven, are usually forgotten.

Wink

I wouldn't lose any sleep buddy. A real man and a cop wouldn't act like this. He's probably not even a cop. If he is, God help us all!

Seabeescotty,

I think you have gone out of your way to show your character. By that I mean how strong it is. I find it interesting that snakebite has not entered into this post. That says a lot about his character.

I and others have a deep respect for you and saw your comment as humor. If snakebite found offense to that it shows his insecurity. Maybe, guilt is eating at him. I have no clue whether he is a LEO good or bad. I just find it bad form to not accept a true man's/or woman's apology. Misunderstandings happen. Character is when we find what is in our hearts and express it.

Don't let Snakebite or any other person of lesser character bother you. We all know where your heart truly was.

I understand you can't send him this message privately, but I "like totally" dislike drama on a forum....

Let's all put on our big boy pants and get back to talking about guns.
