Been thinkin about this rifle

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I looked even through search and wasn't sure where this would fit.

GilbertsGuns.com - Rifles - Saiga - Saiga Ver21 308 21.8" Barrel Rifle

This is a more "sporterized" look for the Saiga. I know there are older models that are cheaper but I wasn't sure if one could get the same stock for the older .308 versions. Any help/advice.

Yes, I still love my sks. I just haven't gotten to shoot it much lately.

Well, are you just wanting a AK style rifle, or are you wanting a .308? The reason I ask, for $550 you could buy a Mak-90, Tantal, or maybe a used Arsenal. Save up another $150 and you could buy a Romak 3. Now, if your wanting a .308, $550-$700 should buy you a used FAL or G3/Cetme, maybe. However, if this is what your wanting, go look at Atlantic Firearms. They've got .308 Saigas for $369.

Unless you are hopelessly wedded to the idea of a wood stock and forearm, Classic Arms down by Charlotte, North Carolina has Saigas with synthethic stocks & forearms in .308 with 16.3 inch barrels for $329.95. Here's the link; the Saiga listings are about 2/3rds of the way down the page.

HAR! HAR! Troy!

Anyhow... yes. I was aware of the other SAIGA's. If I knew of a stock like the SAIGA .308 ver21 synthetic then that most likely would be the cheapest way. Also, the Ver21 has a longer barrel for range. Plus it reminds me of the Drugonov sniper rifle or the Yugo m70 which, to me, would not be worth it for how much those 2 rifles cost for plinkin/huntin.

Otherwise, that one would be my only choice. Ya have to admit, it does look a little classy

Oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, gun talk, I love it!! I'm waiting for a chance to connect with an AR-10, and just realized, I should have put that on my wish list in the other thread!! My bad! Isn't that how the kids say it these days?
