I just had a friend that left his wife. They've been arguing for six months, and he finally had enough. Seems she was always upset cuz he wouldn't take her anywhere or do anything with her anymore. He said that it was not any fun doing stuff with her cuz all she ever did was complain about how she felt, or that she didn't enjoy the activity. Sex had been a dead issue long before. She finally asked him if they had any future together, and he got so mad he said "i guess not" and walked out the door.

Sometimes, you just gotta lay down the law. I do not handle absolutes and directives too well, especially if I worked hard for the money I got. It's one thing if she's paying all the bills, but if I'm paying, and especially if I'm paying for things they want all the time, you can be **** sure that some of my money is going for things I want. If she don't like it, she's entitled to her opinion, but as far as I'm concerned, she manages our budget at my discretion. If I have a different set of priorities, then I'll make changes accordingly.

If my wife threatened to shut down our account, then I'd open one of my own and start putting my paycheck there, and I'd give her what I thought my share of the expenses were and do whatever I wanted to with the rest. I'm about to that point now.

Of course, if she's the breadwinner, then you have to do what she says. In that case, I'd recommend finding a job and earning your own money so you can have the freedom you need to be a grown man.

Ben Its a joint acct. She would just move her money out and open her own acct.

She was just tired of me taking money out without telling her about it until after the fact. It screws up her accounting practices. I don't ask her for 20$ either. I buy guns when I want and that is what pisses her off.

Like I said, get your own account and just give her only what you both agree she needs to pay the bills. If you got a lot in the joint account now, take what you think is yours and go open a new account (your own) with it.

A couple months ago, I sat down with my wife and went over a budget with her. I figured out how much of my check I could spend myself, and how much she could, and how much had to go toward bills. I left her in charge of paying bills, and let her keep all the paycheck in the bank. She has overspent for the last two months, and has left me with less than half of what I expected to have free and clear each month. She will be peeved and will cry and yell, but I am going to open my own account and have my paychecks autmatically deposited to it from now on. I will give her only the amount needed to cover the budget we agreed to. If she runs out of money, then it will be at my discretion whether or not any more will be spent to cover her bills. She'll hym and haw for awhile, but she'll get over it, and then I can start budgeting for my own desires, which may or may not include items for her or the kids above and beyond what is budgeted for.

Well my wife and I have an agreement--all of our income goes toward bills. We just write IOU"S for frivolous spending.

Thumbs up Just a few thoughts...

Just a few comments...

---I never figured Klaus to be a cat lover.

---Doglips list of "women's 50 rules for men" was more accurate than we men would like to believe.

---The sexual revolution also meant that women would be more open about controlling the world, especially men.

---Don't try to figure women out...they change with the wind.

---After 41 years of marriage (to the same woman) I'm still trying to figure out my wife. Time's not the answer.

---Withholding sex is not the answer, either. You can't outwait them if you're trying to prove she'll have to apologize to you or come begging to you. They can act like they don't have any sex drive...ever.

Admit it...there's no real answer. You've got to decide if your present lifestyle is worth fighting for, compromising for, and sacrificing for. Or are you willing to completely start over and completely move out of your present environment.

My wife is Italian, I dont mean american Italian, I met her in Italy on r&r, in 1975, man that hot latin blood is either a blessing or a curse, good loven, or threatening to use your AK on you, I know every curse word in Italian, and some not commenly used, but when she breaks out the pasta fasol, or ravioli home made, she does not like the domestic pasta, the size of your fist, with good ricota cheese, and red sauce that takes her all day to make(Italians dont call red sauce , sauce, they call it gravy) I am in heaven

I'm doing that as well.

Gosh jerry I hardly remember this post I started. Well an update for the Marriage on the Rocks. I weathered the storm very well. we're now making more money and are more financially stable. I still can't go the shows and empty the account; but I can atleast have a budget now when I go.

PS. The gun cabinet is still at my dad's house. I finally finished the downstairs room three weeks ago and will move the arsenal soon.

Talking

This thread has got to be one of the funniest I've read. And...one of the best replies made was by Doglips. Here goes:

Quote:
Im begining to think you dont like sex.....as I learned when I took a class on "Psychology of women" (Taught at U o f Central Florida by a milatent feminist...real class).."All men or pigs" the trick is not to be a "dumb pig" (I got an A in the class by the way)....us guys will never win an arguement so long as the women have the "happy place" and tears.....accept that you cant win....learn to buy flowers...dinner and that silly smelling stuff that they decorate the house with.... Go to ANY married, liveing with, guys house and it is decorated by women....their way of peeing on the tree to mark their terroratory....if we were in charge then the Liveingroom would have car parts..work bench ect.....instead we get the grage or sheed out back.....resistance is futile..you will be asimalted... Oh locig dont work on women....spend a grand on cloths for them...they needed it...spend $20 on gun stuff you wasted $$....when you are out fixing the car they say your out "playing with the car"....even on this board we call our firearms "our toys"... the best we can hope for in the battle of the sexes is not to be abused and hopefully breast feed.
I like the Cabanit...nice guns also.
