two-70 the KelTec's are excellent back up guns or a very concealable firearm.
I would never use one for plinking or target shooting anyway.
I want one for my main concealed weapon...I like'em !...A.H
The Keltecs (depending on what model) are guns that you don't shoot a lot. Like ArkansasHunter says, they are carried as back-up or deep concealment. The smaller guns aren't very enjoyable to shoot a whole lot of ammo through - you shoot enough so you can practice and learn how to be good with it when needed. 6,000 rounds sounds like a lot.

Had a Keltec 380 and didn't like it. Just didn't like the way it felt. Have seen photos of the new Ruger LCP, which looks a lot like the Keltec. But, appears it might "hold" more comfortably. So, might try it. Right now, I use a Guardian 380.
I really like my P3AT and I haven't had any problems with it all. I'm impressed with how accurate the little thing is. Some do find the recoil objectionable but I don't mind shooting it at all.
The Ruger looks to be very similar to the Kel-Tec, I'm interested in seeing the real thing.
I fired my Kel-Tec for the first time yesterday. I like the accuracy and it's easy to conceal. I did have trouble getting the magazine to eject every time I emptied it (had to pull it out but it didn't take much to do that). The back of the pistol grip is a little rough and bites in to the hand with prolonged shooting but a conceal carry weapon isn't usually meant for long drawn out firefights.
I like the pistol and will continue to carry it.

Going over the serrations gently with a piece of 600 grit sandpaper will take the sharpness off of them. I also trimmed the casting flash off of mine which made it more comfortable to carry IWB.
As to the 6000 round limit, its just a number. If you have any problems you can send it back to Keltec and they'll fix you up. They will go so far as to make a new gun with the old serial number.

If that is true I may pick one up myself. I have not heard anything on their warranty, one way or the other. I had been considering picking up a slim one for a carry piece for a while, but the 6k thing threw me off. I had an Astra wear out on me right as I was getting real comfortable with it and didn't want to go through the heartache of another carry piece crapping out.

I have, and carry, a P3AT and love it. Not sure I would want to shoot 6,000 rounds through it. After 50 rounds I'm happy, 100 rounds I start to get sore and 200 + rounds my hand is covered in blood.

I heard that! My wife has a P32 which is the same size as the 3AT. I can't imagine shooting a snappy .380 out of it. I feel like I need surgical instruments to shoot hers it's so small.
I haven't personally needed to partake of Keltec's warranty with any of my 3 babies, but basically they have an unconditional lifetime warranty that they actually honor. A guy on KTOG.org recently called them because he had put several thousand rounds through his SU16 and thought the buffer spring might be getting weak. He wasn't having any trouble, just thought it would be a good idea to change it. They sent him a new one and an extra firing pin.

In Caliporna you can't even buy a Kel hand gun, only the rifles! But you can get a Kahr....I looked into them for a long time ( meaning Kahr ) I would never buy one! I have heard nothing but many and I mean lots < of problems with them.
I don't need a gun for CCW with any problems at all! I went with the trusted S&W J frame 642 .....it will do what you need any gun for with the right ammo! Just my 2
Check out a Springfield XD Subcompact. Not as costly as a Karh and a great gun. I have over 7,000 rounds through mine and not a single issue.
I have never found a Kel-Tec handgun that I would trust my life to.
Those I have handled and shot have very stiff triggers, not conducive to accurate shooting, sights are insufficient (though okay for a 'belly-blaster), and I have personally witnessed TWO of them have critical failures at the range, both wre 'back-ups' carried by TPD officers. They replaced them with another brand of pistol.
I do not ascribe to the idea of a pistol having a limited life-span, measured in less than 10K rounds fired. I doubt I will ever shoot that much through any single gun - but I like to know I CAN.
It's funny how opinions can vary so much on these guns. The three Kel-tecs I have used have never missed a beat, and have been very accurate for me. The 9mm did have a stiff, but nevertheless smooth trigger. I have had no problems with it.
One of my shooting buddies hated the Kel-Tec 9mm, but he did like the .32.
I love shooting the Kel-Tec .32. I expected it to have an effective hit range of only 15 to 20 feet, but I was amazed that I could hit small plastic bottles at 25 yards with it almost as well as I could with my full sized pistols. It points very well.
Very true - it is pretty loud for only being a .32, but it still makes a little less racket than say a 9mm would. It's probably the shorter barrel that accounts for the extra noise.
A full metal jacket .32 round will penetrate remarkedly well too, even with the short barrel. Reliable expansion on a .32 hollowpoint in the short barreled Kel-Tec is pretty tough to come by though.
It's too bad .32 ammo is so expensive, or I would take it to the range more often than I do.
