I'd consider it if I wanted a 30-30. It would have been nice if they would have spaced the top tank holes for a common tang mounte peep and done away with the tang safety. That would have moved the safety to the reciever as a cross bolt or like on my Rossi a firing pin block on the bolt.

Didn't Mossberg have a leveractions years ago that looked like a Marlin or was it Savage ?

If they'll come out with a 35 remington caliber I might consider buying one.

I wonder what its design lineage is. The open top makes it resemble the Win 94, at least more so than the Marlin 336/1896.

The older Mossy leverguns did resemble the Marlin 336, but not as well made. The have lower resale value.
This new one much more resembles the classic Winchester 94. I might consider one, if the price is decent - though having the Marlin, I would prefer a different loading too! I really don't need a third Thutty-thutty.

The rimfire Mossy is interesting too! I'd like one to compare to my Henry.

Can't have too many Thutty Thutties! Well, lever guns anyway. AH is right about the 35 rem. I have a Marlin in 35 and one in 30=30. In the brush that 35 really packs a whallop! I almost sold it the other day but couldn't bring myself to do it. I kept remembering the conversation me and Arkansas had about the virtues of a 35 rem. Just gotta keep the thing!

tex I'm constantly looking for 35 Marlins, you just can't find used one's. If you ever have to sale it let me know, but I personaly would never sell it.

As far as the M.S.R.P. on the above gun I would almost bet come next Deer season it will be $150 to $175 cheaper to buy.
I wonder if it's made in the U.S. or Mexico.
