GUN CONTROL!
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in
Australia were forced by new laws to surrender 640,381
personal firearms to be destroyed by their own
government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more
than $500 million dollars. The first year results are
now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey/victim is
unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has
decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control please remind them of this history lesson. With guns,we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'.
During WWII the Japanese and the German undoubtedly decided against physically invading America because they knew most Americans are ARMED!!! And we can assume, others choose not to because they also know they'd have to fight for every inch of ground. Every American gun owner would proudly defend this country and willingly die doing it. I know I would. And, to be completely honest, I'd be scared to death, but I'd damn well do it.

what? no! that article cant be true. the evil guns are gone, so the crime has ended. it is the law you know. (excuse the dripping sarcasm, but i cant believe the depth of stupidity you must sink to in order to think that surrendering your arms is the way to a crime free society)
Glock, do you have some solid documentation for this? I'd like to write a paper on this for my college class on this topic, and need something substantial to quote as a source. Any help would be appreciated.

The first link is to the home page. It's quite a good source and has a wealth of information, or as it simply says, thought you should know. A good site to just bookmark and check out when you have the time.
The second link is to the story where I got most of the information from. I wanted to post just the figures, to see what kind of responses it would generate. As it opened my eyes even further, and if one has an open mind, it to shall open their eyes as well, as it is very eye opening! The third link is to yet another story i found looking for information on the statistics for the first one. lol So it is all out there. Just have to find it, read it, and post it, EVERYWHERE!
Anyhow, give credit to where credit is due. To the person who obviously researched it, the authors Geoff Metcalf and Alan L. Lund.
Hers is yet another story that reflects true statistics and figures of "gun control". Don't let the title fool you on this one. read it. Gun control really does work!
To confirm any of it or for solid documentation, you can search the info contained in the story, or search or google Armenians killed, or Holocaust, as examples. Many to this day argue the numbers. As it must be quite hard to put bodies together from bones found and get exact counts. Or as it must be hard to give or get accurate numbers when records aren't or weren't kept, or were destroyed, it can't be easy to get accurate information. So there will then obviously be disagreements and arguments when it comes to the figures. But fact is fact, multitudes were killed! Does an exact number or count really matter?
You could also contact the authors or the websites asking where they got the information. It is out there. It just takes knowing how and where to look.
I apologize for not posting the link to the stories or the stories themselves. I wanted to see what reactions and or responses of those who just saw figures, without verification. Even with verification, those who don't, won't or choose not to believe, will always argue the legitimacy of anything that proves them wrong. Some of the other information that is not in the story or article, is merely my opinion. Example, the is the last paragraph in regards to the Japanese in WWII. Some of it is my opinion, and some of it I remembered hearing while watching a documentary type show on both the military channel and the history channel., it was called, "Target America".
Most all information is from the links I've provided. Again, I wanted to see reaction before I gave verification. I'd hoped more would respond.
As for sending this to the NRA or the GOA, I'm sure they already know of the existence of these figures and have used it in the many arguments they've already made and will continue to make on the behalf of gun control and protecting the 2nd Amendment and the right to bear arms.

Alleydude ... you will most likely get a receptive audience in the students given the recent rash of campus shootings... but don't be at all surprised to have the academia educated professors discouraging you about the topic... they (IMHO) would most likely be ... for the most part, anti-gun.

... so much is manipulated these days to support agendas that it is very tough to get accurate and truthful information. Sadly... it is almost better to get accurate truthful information from foreign media than our own.
