I have seen quite a few people say if you want to see a spectacular exploding varmint use a bigger caliber round, my experience has been the opposite. I find ultra fast low grain v-max style bullets like the 22-250 make for good exploding varmints. My 308 just leave a 308 size hole in them, occasionally it will rip a dog in half, but nothing like the small v-max bullets where you get aerial gut twisting acrobatics.

Although a those 110's might be a nice idea for the little stuff, I will have to load up 100 and give them a try.

Shot a coyote once with a 22lr and it did some neat airaial twisting and turning.

I never got real accuracy out of 110gr .30cal.Sugest 125gr spirepoint or 130gr spbt,s.You can push them almost as fast,they maintain fps better and blow critters up about the same. sam.

i've already got a couple of groundhogs with the .22 lr this year, i suppose ill just keep that for groundhoggin and get that .308

I have killed to date, 54 coyote using my 30-06 and Sierra 165gr HPBT. The shortest shot was 125yds and the longest so far has been 426yds. My average shots (ranged) over the 54 coyote taken has been 290ys.

The camera and rifle angle are not the same. You were seeing it from my perspective not the shooter's perspective. Besides when you hit something with a v-max bullet it disintegrates so i don't know what would be ricocheting.

I shoot Pigs with a 30-06 Rem 700BDL, and yes pigs are varmints. I would show some pics but have not figured how to post yet. And 30-06 are accurate enough for long shots on small things. We have been shooting people with them at least since 1903

I see no porblem in using it. I went gopher hunting with mine this past weekend. i was hitting them easily at 100 yards with my savage in 30-06, the longest was 250 yards give or take a few. i also took out my 303 enfield for the close ones. if you have no problem with the recoil its fun. but its pricey, i only took my big bores out because i had 80 or so shells for each rifle.

I used my'06 for years with 170 FMJ military rounds. They did the job and didn't destroy the dog too much. I then upgraded to a 55gr accelerator and they are amazing! kinda pricey but still cheaper than buying a new gun. if you only have the '06 then use it. I shot my deer last year with 55gr out of my '06. I went yote hunting on the last day of deer season. I left my 168gr rounds at home on accident. When we got out there the biggest buck of my life presented itself mid day. I had to take the shot. 100 yards and it dropped him dead. Over all great round. Now I use a .223. Try H&R for cheep and good varmint rifles. Or Stevens 200 if you go that route. Good luck.

I got a white-tail 2 years ago with my Rem 700 in .30-06 at 325yds prone and hit it right behind the shoulder and didn't adjust for distance that was with Winchester 150gr in Super-X style. That guy that said his bullet drop was 2ft at 300yds needs some help honestly...that or he was shooting with 200gr bullets...

Remington Accelerators are very accurate in some rifles and won't hit a barn in some others. Test drive before you make a big investment in them. 125s are going to be the lightest factory loads, but fortunately, they'll perform well on bush dogs (coyotes) and even deer if they don't go bigger than 200 pounds. If the shooting bug really bites, you may need to consider an off-base residence for the goodies
