War time production of 91/30 wood stock question

I was told during war time production the stock was fitted in two pieces. You can clearly see the wood pegs and the line showing the two pieces.

You guys with war time produced stocks got the same thing?

My M44 dated 1945 does not have it, but at that time the Germans had been beat back. I would still think items were in short supply for a long time after the war ended with the Germans. The Russians were pushing out themselves to hold as much as they could so really in effect the war machine was still needing raw material.
