MAS mod.45

hey.... i have a question..... has anyone ever heard of an MAS Mod.45 in 22 rimfire..... my father bought it about 15 years ago from a friend of his..... the story was it was a german training rifle in WW2..... has military type sights consistent with mauser 98 and a mauser type safety setup..... the bolt release is also consistent with m98 military rifles....5 round bottom feed clip (.22 rimfire style).... i can find no info on it and i suspect that it is a post war commercial rifle manufactured for sporting purposes...... if i really need to (i have difficulty figuring out how to put photos on this website) i will post photos of the rifle..... it is very well made and weighs around 7 lbs..... anyone familiar with this rifle?

wow....that was quick!!!!

thanks okiehenry...... i had looked in all my reference books and had completely overlooked the heading somehow...... i have a 28th ed of BLUE BOOK OF GUN VALUES, had looked it up several times and completely missed it..... the values are the same in my book too....

confirms my opinion that it was not made for german army training purposes.... its interesting that the bolt and safety assembly is so complex that it doesn't seem that it could be made cheaply enough to sell in a commercial market..... its an interesting rifle......

if i can possibly figure out how to put photos on this network, i will, because i would like all the .22 rimfire enthusiasts here to view this interesting rifle.... it shoots well and seems reliable...... it is however a heavier rifle than i prefer to carry in the woods (for a .22)...... thanks again okie H!
