Personally, I prefer the Hornady brand. Just wish they'd all come down in price. Say about half of what they are currently. lol

haha thats true but hey i went and bought a brand new savage 17 hmr rifle today and gander mtn had thier ammo on sale got 500 rounds or hornady federal for $8 good deal

yea, 8 bucks for a box of 50 rounds is a good deal. Just a shame one has to buy 500 rounds to get that deal. Enjoy your new toy.

was in gander the other day and the lowest price I saw was 12.99 a box I would have bought a brick or two at the $8.00 price.

I have a Savage 17 and love it. I really don't see too much difference in ammo for my rifle, I've shot all the manufacturers bullets and I kinda lean towards the Federal balistic tip or hollow point, they both shoot the same. Walmart in this area is the cheapest at $11 bucks a box for the Federal, CCI and Hornady a little more. Dick's is highest at $15 a box.

thanks guys yea the box had a sticker on it and it originallt said $12 somthing and then there was a big white sticker on it that just had 10 on it so the cashier lady said it was ten dollars then there ammo was 10% off
