Magpul PMAGS

I've been looking into picking up a few PMAGs for my AR, and was reading something on Magpul PMAG 30rd Mazazines that confused me.

When it says "long term storage, 30 rounds with no "downloading", and "can be stored for long periods with the impact cover in place," are they trying to market that you can store the PMAG loaded, or that it will last a while in storage (empty)?

I know if you store the USGI mags loaded that it damages the springs over extended periods. Does anyone know if you can store the PMAG loaded?

Thanks,

Magpul states that with the mag loaded with 28 rounds and the top cover that you will not have to worry about the spring weakening over time and failing like some of the other mags are known to do. I love the PMAGS best mags on the market

Modern mag springs don't wear out from being compressed for long periods of time... you can keep the mags loaded indefinitely.

It's the lips on their Magpul mags that creep when fully loaded this is why they have the retainers. The springs don't enter into any long term storage problem today.

PMAGS are great. My friend is on SWAT in Indian River Country and just bought some for his M4. Great investment.

PMags are great. They are the ones I will buy from here on out. Even without the magazine cover, I bet the lips spreading on a pmag would be less of a problem than on USGI mags.

Nice looking rifle you got there. Load up those mags to the full 30 and don't worry about it.

Ha, yeah, I'm pleased. Still trying to decide if I want to spend the 140 or so on a Grip-Pod Vertical grip with the integrated bipod, or even a vertical grip at all. I dunno if I like them very much..

I think they are excellent mags. Not ready to throw out my USGI mags, but it's nice having an assortment of both.
