I purchased a BSA 7mm Rem Mag rifle a few weeks ago and I can not find any info on this rifle. I want to replace the short 16.5 inch barrel that this rifle came with. Does anyone have an idea how to reseach this?
You do not need a BSA barrel. The BSA action is a precise knock-off of the Mauser 98. Barrel choices are legion. Any gunsmith can help you with this. Plan on spending $150 for a good barrel, $50-$75 for labor.
A 16.5 inch 7mm mag? That must be interesting to shoot.................
Do not buy any barrels from Numrich that are reconditioned. They have all kinds of problems.I bought a 7mm rem mag that I had to set the barrel back .120" and rechamber to use it.I bought a .243 barrel that expanded case bodys to where you couldnt even resize them.Go to midwayusa or such.Watch for short chambers which is the only real way you can headspace a Mauser but a reamer cost around $100 and it is usually about $135 or such to get a gunsmith to do it.I suppose numrich new barrels might be ok. sam.
