billy: Sir; the Leupold 2.5-8x32 VX111 looks mighty fine. Life time warranty; might come in handy with the 454.
Yes. I don't have one. Just looked through them when I was trying to decide whether I'd do 'Iron' sight; or Scoped. For now; iron only.

I understand the aging eyes. Even at 25 yards I have a hard time seeing the sights and the target.
I would vote for the Leupold. Just my bias. I would definitely not compromise on quality with that fine handgun. Of course, I feel I am preaching to the choir on that one.

if i am going to go through the trouble of buying this cannon ,reloading for it,along with all the other doodads that go along with a completely different kind of firearm than all my others i may as well put some decent glass on it.
heres the broken record part...
the more magnification the better!

billy, i have the big variable leupold, it is okay from a rest when you have the power up. i dont think you'll ever shoot hand held with the power up past 4, unless you have incredibly steady hands.

For scopes on handguns that I want to shoot really accurately, I like Burris scopes because they make some with parallax adjustments. That really helps me when using a rest to test ammo or using the 22 to pick-off a little varmint that is rather close and not holding still like those paper targets do. I can concentrate on exactly where the cross-hairs are sitting, without constantly trying to keep those cross-hairs in the center of the field-of-view at the same time.
I have a 4x on a .22 LR semi-auto and a 4-12x on a Contender in 30 Herett (which kicks about like a 44 mag.) Neither of these kicks like your Casull, so you should probably ask Burris what level of recoil their various scope models can take.
I have the Elite 3200 on my contender 30-30 and it is a good scope,I would say a best buy. What I dont like is the eye relief is 20 inches which is too long for me.Eye relief is an important factor in the decision.

I have a couple of the old Bushnell trophy moidels on my TC Contenders and the 35 Rem hasn't busted any yet, with the old Redfield three ring mt., they made 'em in 2X and a 2X7X --good scope for the money--JMJ--
