i just finished swapping out the trigger return and hammer springs as well as polishing and deburring the internal bearing surfaces.
this is an entirely different gun.
it is smooth as silk.
the whole thing took maybe an hour.
i used wolff springs.
15 bucks and an hour later now i really like this one!!!!!!!!

it went from a 15 lb. trigger pull to 8!

a little polishing does wonders on the insides of just about any ruger gun. they are more affordable for a reason.

the worst part is the hole the trigger return spring sits in. every one ive ever seen looks like it was bored out with a dull auger.

update ,
i put the lightest mainspring in it
9 lbs.
and the 8 lb. trigger return spring.
i ran 50 rnds. through without a hitch.
now it is easy to do doubletaps.
i highly recommend this upgrade.
i didnt like to shoot this gun much before.
i hated the 15 lb. trigger.

i looked at the fired primers and am getting plenty hard enough hits.
that was my only concern about using the lightest springs

Bill, my GP is pretty slick, and I find it won`t DA handloads. I don`t care really, its an observation rather than criticism. It`ll DA factory stuff fine.
